The kids love their electric fireplace. I purchased these last year in the Fall in preparation for the holiday season. Our house already has 2 chimney fireplaces and the kids asked to have one “built” in their rooms. Well, of course my answer was they can certainly have that high end feature when they build their own homes someday. For now, I will install a freestanding fireplace. They absolutely love it! They can operate it using the remote control to set the desired temperature and timer to turn off. Definitely a lot of plastic, however it works appropriately on low(1k watts), and the fan pushes the heat from the infrared around effectively and efficiently as well. Takes very little time on low to heat 250’ to 72F. That saves $. The fan isn’t extremely quiet, but it will suffice. The thermostat is a big step better than the cheap hardware store space heaters, but still not as accurate as a central heating thermostat. Looks very nice . The congregating cats approve. Bought it for the better reviews. So far it deserves them. Hope the ambiance is worth the high price. ... show more

We were looking looking for a compact unit to supplement the heating in our guest room that put out some decent heat, had a remote control, looked nice and fit into a tight corner. The Selectric unit delivered on all fronts. Also liked the fact the heating element was high on the unit as opposed to blowing from underneath. Was also pleased the top stayed cool. It worked so well my teenager continually steals it for his room when his friends are over and it has stood up to being a side table and incidental garage heater when fixing the car. Only concern was it took a little bit to figure out how set up switch on the base unit to accept the remote commands. Appreciate the timer and thermostat-based shut off too.     • The only trick to this heater is to keep the room a constant temperature.
I use this for my bedroom. It’s a good heater , but if your room gets cold,more than 3 or 4 degrees colder than you want it takes some time for it to catch up.

    • Very nice little heater
The media could not be loaded. I got this heater to help warm a chilled room. I have it set up on a marble table and it works really well for taking tbe chill off. It has a remote which is a really nice perk of this heater. I love that it looks like a little woodstove. The fan isn't terribly noisy, not much more than a regular fan. I also like that you can adjust the temperature either manually or using the remote. The top doesn't get warm at all, so I placed a little lamp on top as well.     • Almost Perfect Little Fireplace
I love the looks, size, flame color and weight.. The heat output for a regular size bedroom is just right and the fact you can control it remoteñy is fantastic especially if your relaxing in bed. And, yes it's extremely easy to put together. What I didn't like is that it is made of plastic and warns against picking it up after use which makes it difficult to move from one area to another. ... show more

It is nice looking and seems to heat up a space well. I think the heater is a bit loud. It is a nice size for a small space.
