Seiko 5 Sports SKX Sea Green “Skeleton Style” SRPJ45K1 Inspired by the Seiko archives, this timepiece features elements from the popular Seiko ‘Time Sonar’ watch, now presented in an SKX shaped Seiko 5 Sports case design. The eye catching original 1970s 'Time Sonar' watch was famous for its unique design features, which are incorporated in this modernised version. The signature translucent dial showcases the day/date disc rotation and its Sea green dial with highlight red-orange Second hand add to the retro effect. Powered by the Seiko in-house 4R movement, the watch shape echoes the SKX series of Seiko 5 Sports watches - 1990s versions which updated the 1960s originals. Seiko 5 Sports is known for over fifty years of reliability, durability, performance and value. ‘’5’’ represents the original five key features of every Seiko 5 still present today: Automatic movement, Day-date display, Water Resistance, Recessed crown and Durable case and bracelet. Date is either English or French.

Had my eye on a Seiko 5 for a while, liked the styles and the whole nice-ish automatic watch for the working class concept. Couldn't get past the compromises in the bracelet, movement, and water resistance though. So along comes the Sport series, which addresses those issues but to me lost some of the style and fun. Then I saw this model, seemed like just the thing. Splits the difference between an everyday practical and a dress watch perfectly for me. Very happy with it overall. Looks great, wears well, very comfortable for a watch that's a good bit chunkier than I'm used to. I wouldn't want it a mm bigger but it doesn't present as oversized on my 8-ish inch wrist. Removed 1 link for a perfect fit. Accuracy is excellent, interesting, these are supposed to be rated for about +/- 30 seconds a day but mine is good for 6 to 12. Plus, it runs a little slow on the wrist and a little fast off, such that the first week I wore it, it was dead on at the end of the week. Brilliant if that's by design. I have a small watch collection, and this watch fits nicely into that collection. I like the size and the looks of the watch and the fact that it keeps really good time. I bought this swatch unseen and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. You can feel the quality. It was well-packaged and arrived without defects. I think right out of the box, this is a great little watch for every day use. I wouldn’t say it’s the most professional or luxurious time please buy I think it’s pretty great for the money. Countering some of the other reviews that I’ve seen, I at least got a brand new product with no issues. The company was even nice enough to pre-fill my warranty card info. Some things I do like about the watch, it’s small enough that it doesn’t take up too much real estate on the wrist, it has some weight to it, but it doesn’t feel too heavy, the color is just as advertised. The dark teal looks stunning. And that’s literally the only reason I bought it. The glow at night is really nice and lasts a decent amount of time. Very easy to use and love the fact that it’s automatic and manual winding. Offers both a brushed and polished steel look on the case and love the fact that, with the bezel being lifted, it adds to the depth of the face. Also, a pro is you can set it to Spanish or English determining on what you start with. Somethings, I don’t like is that it is not a screw down crown, so I wouldn’t go swimming with it. The date/day changes at different intervals and has about a three hour difference. The watch it self changes the date at about 11:55 PM. (If starting from English) The day follows at about 12:30 AM turning it to Spanish and only changes to English at about 3:30 AM. Not a big deal since most people are sleeping at that time but if I’ve been drinking and coming home at 12:30 I’m really gonna screw up the day. The positive side to that is if you start with a Spanish day of the week. It’ll maintain that as the dominant and switch to English at 12:30 followed by Spanish at 3:30 AM. Overall, I think it’s a really decent watch for the money, Sacco has a really good reputation and in my opinion it’s like the Lexus of watches. Might not be the most luxurious top-of-the-line, but you still get a quality product with a great design still a fraction of the price cheaper than others. ... show more

I like the color scheme and the translucent dial. The orange second hand is a nice bit of contrast as well. Had it a couple weeks and it’s stayed very accurate. Been the daily wear watch that whole time. Needed something a little more rugged for work and this fit that bill perfectly. I had wanted to stay around $200, but decided I would pay more for this dial and I’m happy I did. ... show more
