However, installing the wooden square cut out piece before putting the fireplace insert into it- not all screws went into that and stayed put as they should have. It’s a fragile piece of wood. Also, book shelf ends don’t connect to the center fireplace piece, they just rest next to it- which I like because you don’t have to have them there and can make a separate book shelf if you’d like, but I do want them on either side and there’s a small gap in between each piece because they don’t connect. This fireplace has too many things wrong about it to cost $819.00 plus tax. It's a little frail after assembly and because it is all cookie cutter pre-cut material, there's a lot of gaps all over the structure that need putty because the trim is too short. This is a wonderful fireplace. It was relatively easy to assemble. It took my husband and me most of an afternoon, but there were no big problems. It warms our slightly chilly living room to just the right temperature. And controlling it with Alexa is so easy and astounds everyone who sees it. Arrived in 3 separate boxes. The the heater on the fireplace component does not work. It will turn on then flashing error appears in a couple of minutes. Controls on the remote and on the fireplace fail to turn of the error. Must be unplugged to clear. Meanwhile, the lights, logs, and flame all operate. Seller will not pay the return shipping. Checked with UPS and USPS, each is over $100 to return just the heater. Disappointed is an understatement. We got duped for nearly $800. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I had this fire place for 10 years now. Great to see that it is still available to purchase. It seams that the color with time has gotten a little more yellow since we got the ivory one, but overall we had no issues with it at all. We do use it on very cold mornings since we live in Vermont. In the evening we do use it for ambience. As far as heat it has served us well on a couple of nights where our furnace stopped working and has helped our pipes from freezing.
