Love it! Just Beautiful! I keep it set on around 70 (live near Chicago) and my furnace has not kicked on once yet this winter. Put a small space heater on the other end of my apartment and with the fireplace, it's very toasty in here. I get compliments on it every time someone sees it.

This was a nightmare from the beginning I ordered it from Amazon I got the mantle and opened it and started to put it together when I realized had no heater insert. I called Amazon it took a while for their customer service to understand what I was trying to tell them. I was trying to tell them that I had received the wooden mantel but not the actual fire insert. And I tried to explain to them as lovely as the mantle is it's not all that great without the Firebox insert so it looks like a fireplace. When I finally made myself clear I said okay I've got the mantle why don't you just send me the Firebox insert so I can enjoy this very expensive electric fireplace I've bought. Well apparently that was not something they could do I had to send the perfectly good mantle I had almost put completely together back into the box in which it came and send it back to UPS using my time and effort. I thought it was ridiculous they could not just send me a firebox insert. And slightly annoyed I tried to box it up the best I could took the extremely big bulky heavy box by myself to the UPS Store and mailed it back to them. I really wanted the fireplace, so in order to get said fireplace I was told by Amazon I had to return the mantle and re-buy the whole unit. And that they would not issue my refund until they received the mantle back so in essence at this time I would have two. expensive fireplaces on my credit card. I was annoyed to say the least. So it paid for the second fireplace, I really wanted it. So I get home from work about a week later and the UPS has been to my house and left a box on my porch and I thought yey! My fireplace is here even though it is going on 3 weeks now I've been trying to get it. As I walked up onto my deck I realized there was only one medium sized box smaller than the mantle box I had gotten before. I could not believe that Amazon after all the time I had spent with them on the phone had sent me the Firebox insert but no mantle after they insisted they couldn't do that and I had sent the original mantle back. I was highly annoyed at this point. So I called Amazon back again and explain to them that even though I at this point in time I had paid for two expensive fireplaces and all I had was a firebox insert and a lot of wasted time and effort. Once again I was dealing with someone who had English for a second language at Amazon, and I had to try to explain to them over and over and over what had already transpired. When I finally made it clear to the young woman I was speaking with she said well you'll need to return that and buy another one but we don't have any in stock. And I told her that yes indeed they did have them in stock because while I was talking to her I found it on their website and put it in my basket. She then told me that I need to return the fireplace insert and buy another fireplace. I explained to her what I've been through and that my card had been charged for two fireplaces already with no refund issued yet and that I wasn't going to pay for another fireplace. Well I really wanted the fireplace so I ended up returning the fireplace Firebox insert and buying another have the exact same fireplace in hopes of getting both pieces. By this time I was good and angry. Well they finally got both pieces to me. The mantle is absolutely beautiful the Firebox Flames looks fake fake fake. and it really didn't put out any heat to speak of and with in a month or two the heater stopped heating. My brother died suddenly around this time and I had just had two more to deal with than I could stand so I really didn't even think about it that much I just left it off and dealt with other things. Winter's coming so I had my new husband look at it because I told him it really did not heat. And he said well that's because this heater doesn't work. Apparently it had either gone bad immediately or it was bad before I got it. So he called Southern Enterprises he talked to a woman there who said oh yes that model that happens quite a lot and once that happens there no good they can't be fixed and gave a little laugh. I did not find it funny. My only saving grace was it is just under a year and they give a year warranty. I just hope to God they don't send the same damn firebox ... show more

The box the mantle came in was terribly sketchy looking, so I was skeptical... but that quickly turned to pleasantly surprised. Not any harder to put together than something from IKEA. Beautiful, warm color. Seems sturdy/heavy. Bought it for my 89 year old momma and she loves it!

    • Very pretty with a great heater.
I bought this item for my master bedroom, which it the coldest room in the house. It is very easy to put together, though having someone help is not necessary it makes it easier. I run it every evening throughout the night and it keep the bedroom toasty and we set the logs to the lowest setting for the warm glow. The fan is a bit loud, but not so much that it keeps me awake. ... show more

Nice looking and good quality, just what I expected. I would have given it 5 stars but it would be nice to have some fire crackle built it. Update 1/23/2018. I had to move it to 5 stars from 4, it's very cool, much much better than I thought a 'fake' fireplace would ever be. I had a real fireplace at my previous house and I have to say I like this better. I can live without the crackle sound. It seems sometimes on Amazon I get a winner and at others I get a loser, this one they hit it out of the park. ... show more

Very easy to put together. Looks real and it is beautiful! It is very sturdy and heavy. The stain was a lot more red then I was expecting. It didn’t match my furniture so I did sand and paint/stain. I was surprised by the quality when I sanded it down it is a lot of solid wood grain that wasn’t visible under the manufacture stain. ... show more
