  • Slower and less range that the Max, but economical
Pattern Name: KickScooter Style: D28U
For occasional community exploration, such as visiting the pool or navigating local streets, this electric scooter is a suitable choice. My previous Segway Ninebot Max, the company’s most powerful model, served me well for approximately five years. However, the battery deteriorated, and an accident due to a missed curb necessitated an upgrade. While I could have repaired the scooter, the time had come, and I opted for a slower model with reduced range. Despite its lower performance, it is still a Segway Ninebot product. While there are numerous high-quality scooters available, the Segway brand carries significant weight. The scooter’s app, while slightly imperfect, generally functions as intended. I have not found much use for the app. Upon initial use, riders must complete a tutorial to deactivate the scooter’s factory-imposed limitations. Once this is done, users can select their preferred mode. I typically maintain mine in the fastest mode. Several features of this East scooter are particularly useful. The integrated headlight and tail light enhance visibility, while the kickstand and display provide essential information, including distance, charge level, mode, and other relevant details. The scooter’s sturdy construction and folding design make it convenient for commuters. However, if a serious commuter requires extended usage beyond a few blocks each way, a more powerful Longer Range Segway Nine Max would be a more suitable choice. Unless you are on a tight budget, this electric scooter is a practical choice for most situations. I recall my experience living in New York City, where the primary concern was not range, as scooter riders typically used them to reach subway or bus stations rather than commuting directly to work. From there, they would carry their scooters into their offices or jobs, making the return trip a manageable five-minute walk or less. Additionally, electric scooters are particularly beneficial for commuters. They eliminate the need to arrive at work sweaty and uncomfortable, especially in office environments. Their compact size allows them to be stored conveniently in the corner of a cubicle, and they do not require parking fees, unlike bicycles. Furthermore, electric scooters do not demand physical effort, ensuring that commuters remain fresh and energized throughout their workday. ... show more

  • Better than it’s counterparts!
Pattern Name: KickScooter Style: D18W
I originally purchased a Hover scooter for my son to take to college. He has to go to the schools farm one or more times each day. It is more than a mile away and he often only has minutes to get there. So a scooter was the solution to get him there quicker, especially when it gets colder. That first scooter failed and the motherboard died less than a week of use. There were no falls or accidents. We returned it and decided to get the other scooter I had in my cart-the Segway! Not only has it been more durable, but it’s quicker and a better ride all around. It’s even easier to ride when he has to have his cowboy boots in. Win. Win. We only wish it was available in cool colors because my son doesn’t like to look like everyone else. I will be considering buying the same one for my daughter next year. ... show more

  • Poor performance on hills
Pattern Name: KickScooter Style: D18W
While there are some aspects of the scooter that impress me, there are also a few drawbacks that are worth noting. One of the biggest drawbacks I have encountered is that the battery drains faster than I would like. I find myself having to charge it more frequently than I expected, which is a bit of a disappointment. On the positive side, I am finding the ride itself to be quite comfortable. The scooter handles well and is easy to control, even at higher speeds. It offers a smooth ride, which makes my daily commute more enjoyable. I also appreciate that the tires did not need inflating during assembly, saving me some time and hassle. And the scooter's portability is a major plus - it folds up easily and can be carried when necessary. However, it is slightly heavier than other models I have used in the past. The biggest drawback of the scooter, in my experience, is its performance going up hills. Even on hills of moderate steepness, the scooter struggles and needs manual kicking to make it up. This can be a bit frustrating, as my daily commute includes several hills. Overall, I think that this scooter could be a good choice for some commuters, especially those who prioritize comfort and portability. However, the battery life and poor performance on hills are both significant issues that could be dealbreakers for some users. ... show more

  • All lies- forever to charge, last only few mins.
Pattern Name: KickScooter Style: D18W
Takes over an hour to charge. Only lasts for 25-30 min on regular drive mode. I have never seen it reach above 12mph speed even on sport mode. So all a lie on advertisement. Stay away from this company all together. I bought it a year ago but never really used it much. Today is probably the 15th time I took it out. There has been no harm to this product. Therefore no damages that could affect the battery. I wish I saw this earlier. Would have returned right away. ... show more
