I only ride around my development but my butt hurts after a few mins of riding. I wasn’t expecting my butt to take a pounding while riding on a ninebot.

I was concerned about the seat falling because of other reviews, but frankly all it takes is you tightening it correctly. Yes, it can start riding down but frankly all it takes is you tightening the screw a bit. If tightened all the way, it will be impossible to push down no matter how long you ride it. You have to tighten it to the point where pushing the latching bar is almost too hard to push in. If it takes all your strength, you've done it right. On the bad side, the fact that you have to use so much strength to properly latch this is definitely problematic. But don't be afraid, it does work correctly and doesn't ride down. Also, definitely make sure you follow instructions on installing as well as keeping those instructions nearby or memorizing them because I uninstalled and reinstalled months later and subsequently forgot a step and I did some damage to it. Not enough to break it or make it unusable, but I put a nice dent in it. If I had done more damage I certainly could have ruined it. Anyway, it is a fantastic addition to the scooter. In covid times, when you can't eat inside a restaurant, you basically have a "portable seat" with this thing. Fantastic for waiting outside for food or services rendered to you curbside. I have had a nice sitting break and eaten ice cream in the heat. When stopped at red lights I have a seat. Sometimes I sit the entire ride. It's great. It adds a lot more folding time and weight to the scooter. That being the case, eventually I removed it permanently, only to reinstall it once my girlfriend decides to start using it in the future. I enjoyed the heck out of it when installed, though, and it makes riding the scooter much, MUCH more easy. Make sure you think about it before ordering it because of these issues. If you need to fold and carry your scooter often you should not buy this. If your scooter is in your trunk or RV and it's for the beach or something and you are just relaxing with it and using it in a relatively safe area, then by all means buy it. ... show more

Perfect fit for the ES1L model. It’s got thick cushion and spring suspension too. Make sure to insert the seat post at least to the minimum position to avoid damage and the post coming out.

the good - comfortable enough seat, good suspension, offer a more stable ride when seated. the bad - not easy to install - took me 3 attempts due to the cheap plastic holders that go underneath the platform, doesn't allow the scooter to fold if you have the extra battery attached, kinda low (i'm 5'10" tall and felt like i was squatting instead of sitting). It's a good idea, but badly conceived. instead of cheap plastic screw holders, they should have had screw holes in the underside of the platform. lining the holders with the screws and keeping them in place was VERY DIFFICULT - 3 attempts! also, once you have the seat attached, you don't want to remove it because of the cheap plastic screw holders will probably not work after you take them off due to being stripped. Also make sure you only want to use it with the seat forever and not being able to fold the scooter if you have an extra battery attached before buying and installing. would have given 5 stars if it didn't have the issues mentioned. More info 9/15/20 - the bolt at the base of the seat that keeps it in the upright position has loosened twice on it's own. this could be a problem when riding. at least you get warnings via a loud annoying constant squeak it makes when loose. ... show more

I ordered two of them for my wife and myself they came really fast. First of all they both work fine I weigh around 225 and my wife is around 107. You need to have the plastic sleeve inserted and clamp it the way I have it in the picture other wise it will slide down when you sit on it. Know for the negatives, one of the units had no threads is the bracket so I had to tap it with a thread kit. The other one was missing a washer. Not a big deal but for a high quality product that’s not good. The good is that we find the seats very comfortable and the spring on the shaft really helps with that. So I thought I'd give this seat a chance for my segway ninebot es3. I have to say, it looks great and matches perfectly. However, the center shaft will not stay where you clap it. The little plastic cylinder piece inside the shaft doesn't hold it when you tighten down. I did put electrical tape on it, and it did seem to help. I also put little pieces of felt on the mounts to the frame to make it more sturdy. Then when I road it the seat part would not sit straight. The gear that you tighten with a bolt on the seat just keeps slipping, so you are falling off the back of the seat. Tried putting loctite on it to hold it however its actually the teeth on the gear that keep slipping. After 3 different areas that I had to try and fabricate something to get it to operate properly I decided this isn't worth all the effort and it still doesn't work correctly.
