I’ve had Arlo cameras for years, and this 3-camera Essential 2K system has honestly been a great upgrade. The video quality is really good. Everything looks sharp and clear, and I can easily see what’s going on around my house whether it’s daytime or nighttime. The sound quality is great too, and I use the two-way talk feature more than I expected. I installed all three cameras myself, and it was surprisingly easy. I didn’t need much more than a ladder and a few basic tools. The cameras feel sturdy and have held up well outside. Battery life depends a lot on where you place them. My backyard camera can go about 3 to 4 weeks between charges because there’s not much activity back there. My front camera is a different story since I live on a corner lot with cars and people constantly passing by. It gets triggered so often that I ended up buying a charging cable and leaving it plugged in full-time. That’s not really a complaint, though. It’s just doing its job and recording all the activity. The app is easy to use, and I like being able to quickly check live footage or look back at recordings. I do pay for the subscription, but for me it’s worth it for the added peace of mind. Overall, I’ve been really happy with this system. Having cameras covering multiple areas of my property makes me feel a lot more secure, and they’ve been reliable, easy to use, and well worth the investment. ... show more

I have two homes with Arlo gear. I have a mix of Essential and Pro cameras and doorbells. I also have an Arlo hub at both homes. This camera is fine. I get good resolution and it was easy to set up once I determined that this camera isn't compatible with my old Arlo hub. Connecting it to my Wi-Fi was straight-forward. The only problem I had was with the Arlo Secure app. Once I had the camera set-up it showed up on the app but said it was offline. When I looked at the camera's settings in the app it showed that the camera was online and working. I contacted support and heard back from them a few hours later. The tech had to elevate the problem and the solution was to uninstall and re-install the app. That worked and everything is fine now but I did waste a lot of time playing with it. ... show more

Horrible! Don't buy! We were misled to believe you didn't need a subscription. YOU DO! You have to register to use cameras and it puts you in a "Free trial for 30 days". So when the 30 days end your cameras stop recording. Convenient because you can't return cameras after 30 days. The customer service was terrible as well. They go around and around repeating same info then offer you a discount of $19.99 a month (actually the going fee) for something that should have been free. We had arlo cameras for over 4 years with no plan prior to this. I will never buy arlo again. ... show more

I’ve been using this camera for a little while now, and overall I’m very satisfied. The setup was quick and straightforward, even without much technical experience.
