Going on year three with this foldilock. Read about it first, decided it was the right balance of security for me. Really love the key lock which is a little different and less likely to be picked. Fits so easily on bike, folds compact into it's holder, hard to tell it's even there, I get comments on how cool it is. Make sure to check that the holder is tight enough every now and then. I once hit a pothole and the whole damn thing flew off. Not a big deal that one time, but depending on what you're doing if it gets loose on you and you take lots of big shakes it could be a thing. It is noticeably heavy but manageable. I carry my bike just the same even with it mounted. Can wrap around wide items for locking. Pay attention to tips online on how to use it safely and decrease opportunities for people to compromise it. Shipping was timely. Extremely well made lock. Keys turn very smoothly. 1 thing I wish: the key had a more secure attachment point (it's a rather thin, plastic loop). It seems like it's made of a decent quality plastic for durability, but I'm conscious of this design as I've had a similar automotive key break on my father who doesn't put all of his keys on the same ring, keeping his automotive keys entirely independent on their own ring and fob so he's better than average on wear and tear. I'm considering cutting the loop off and drilling a hole through the main body of the key Just above the blade as i've actually helped other people who Did mistreat their keys, (automobile, a master lock key with a similar plastic part instead of the old school, all metal key) repair them in this same manner when they broke the loop off. ... show more

Great secondary lock to reach around a e bike battery and front wheel on my Aventon level 3. A bit tight but well designed and convenient mounting option. Honestly if I didn’t live in NYC this lock is beautiful and compact.

Although a thick chain lock or U-lock might offer slightly higher security, this lock is probably the most secure folding lock currently available. I went with the FoldyLock Forever since it comes with a frame mountable storage sleeve, which makes it much easier to access and store than a heavy chain. Also it offers a little more flexibility than a U-lock, since you can wrap it around wider objects that might pose a problem for a U-lock. It's lighter than a cable lock, but heavier than a U-lock. This bike lock performs just as well as others which can be almost twice the price. I use my electric bike to commute to work and have greatly appreciated this lock. Ive used it for two years and it has held up well! No rusting or jamming everything works as it did on day one! My bike and the lock were stored indoors when at home. My one complaint is that the rubber clip that secures the lock case has broken. So I can still store my bike lock in the case, but it’s not as secure as it was with the rubber clip. I bought this for my son and his electric scooter. This model was a bit heavier and bigger than I imagined, but for short term security, it's great. It enables him to run into a store for a minute or two. And I like this better than a U-lock because its flexibility allows it to be wrapped around objects of different sizes. I live in a pretty safe town, so with this thing I don't worry about my bike at all. I keep it mounted on my frame, and it's so easy/fast to tie the bike up. The build quality is solid and heavy. In hindsight, I regret not buying the Foldylock Elite, which is the same lock, just longer. The frame on my bike is quite robust, and when there's not always a bike rack to lock up to, the extra length of the Elite would be helpful. I think I would have exchanged it for the longer one and paid the difference, but after only a couple uses, the coating on this lock was pretty easily scratched up (nothing that would affect functionality though). ... show more
