Description

The S12III Bronze Series is available in the standard ATX Form Factor and in wattages that are most common for a PC system. The Sea sonic S12III-Series achieves 80 PLUS Bronze standard of providing at least 82 %, 85 % and 82 % power usage efficiency at 20 %, 50 % and 100 % operating loads, respectively. This efficiency, combined with Active Power Factor Correction, enables the S12III Bronze series power supplies to lessen energy waste, which translates into savings on the costs of energy costs for its users. In addition to being greatly efficient, the S12II units maintain important features such as the stable and proven Double Forward Converter circuit design, and the industry’s leading Smart and Silent Fan Control (S2FC).

  • These PSU's are great (and that's coming from a former repair shop owner).
Style: SSR-650GB3
Recently retired from owning a computer repair shop for several decades. Have been messing with electronics and computers for over four decades now. Anyway, I've been a fan of these SeaSonic PSU's for years. And I'm still buying them for my own projects in retirement. I have worked on more PSU's than I care to remember. And I have tried a lot of different PSU's in my and my customers' builds over the years. For a long while I preferred PSU's from PC Power & Cooling, but in the past decade or so Sea Sonic has pulled ahead. They are my top pick now. SeaSonic sells good heavy PSU's with good components. They've been around since 1975 and it shows in their PSU's. I have some 18 year old PC Power & Cooling PSU's that have had near-constant use year after year and they just keep going. I keep moving them into new projects and just adding adapters/connectors if needed. They're great for legacy builds or Linux builds. Anyway, I expect to get the same longevity out of my SeaSonic PSU's. Also in my top 5 are Corsairs, CoolerMasters, and on occasion SilverStones (when there's a sale or I can't get what I want in a SeaSonic or PC Power & Cooling for a decent price). Not all PSU's from a company are the same. Especially if they outsource manufacturing here and there. Do your research on specific models that fit your intended project. Always buy more power than you need. And always keep all computers on a UPS (uninterrupted power supply). You'll be able to keep your PSU's going a lot longer if you do that. And just so you know, all the companies I stick with are also capable of producing stinkers. I just think they do so less often. All-in-all though, top end SeaSonics have never let me down. My brother likes them too and he's been working in computers longer than me AND is ten times the computer guy than I'll ever be. ... show more

  • Will it power a RTX 3080? Yes it will!
Style: SSR-650GB3
After 12 years I finally broke down with a little help from the U.S. government and built myself a new PC. My goal was to use the best possible components that my wallet could afford and then the pandemic hit. Prices skyrocketed and availability of PC components was hit hard. I wanted a gold rated power supply and there was just no way I was going to pay sometimes upwards of $500 for one and I didn't want one from a company that I didn't recognize. My power supply in my old PC was a Seasonic 500 watt one and it never let me down. It still works to this day. I took the plunge and got this 650 watt one not knowing that I would later win the video card lottery and luck out and obtain a RTX 3080 graphics card. They recommend 750 watts for it so I was a little bit worried but after watching several reviews many were saying that 650 watts was fine. I waited and waited and waited and when the video card finally arrived I installed it and since then I've gamed for hundreds of hours without a single issue. Once again Seasonic hasn't let me down. Of course it's only been a little over 6 months that I have had it so time will tell but if it's anything like my other Seasonic power supply I should have no issues with it and it should last for a long time. ... show more

  • Good PSU
Style: SSR-500GB3
I bought this PSU. In the past I would buy a cheap PSU or value one. Although this is technically a value buy, its made by seasonic which has a really good reputation and bronze rated. I bought this PSU about 70-100 watts over what I needed just to have ample power and for the future. The price on this is good but I would suggest that if this is the first time you buy a PSU or its been a while, you get a modular PSU which allows you to only use the cables you need. I would highly recommend this, there are so many cables now and it really clutters your case. Also the instruction manual is lacking in this, I already knew how to install a PSU but if you didn't, you might be confused reading the instructions. ... show more

  • Good power supply.
Style: SSR-500GB3
I ended up purchasing this to build my first gaming PC since it was recommended in a PC building video I happened to watch. A bit tricky to connect everything to (especially the excess Molex cables) but that was mostly because of my own inexperience with building PCs. So far so good!

  • High quality build and a perfect fit.
Style: SSR-650GB3
My old AT power supply in my HP tower finally failed after more than ten years and this one is a very well-built replacement with more connectors, braiding over the cables, and overall, a higher quality build. The thermostatically controlled fan is a bonus.
