The hard rubber ones would split from the weight of my boat. These hold up nice. They do have a little give but you probably wouldn't notice if you had a lighter boat. The center part is 4", the whole thing is 7". Not sure why it's advertised as 4". Worked out for my bracket tho. Some people complained about it discolored after some time but not sure what the color matters. The 2 outside rollers don't even touch my boat when centered. They are only there to guide your boat to center of roller like the description says. ... show more
