    • This thing is great and the day I bought it, was the cheapest
I see no reason to buy a $400-$500 set of steps over these. They are very heavy duty, have fairly wide steps and the best value out there. They came in two tight fitting double cardboard corrugation boxes with the parts each in a thick foam bag and wrapped with two layers of 1/4 inch heavy foam wrap. The steps need no assembly other than attaching the hand hold pole. other than that it just uses two U bolts to attach to the trailer frame. It took me longer to unbox than it did to install it so maybe 3 minutes. I build a lot of my own stuff and had gathered so stuff to build one and then I thought, why not buy the cheapest one and improve what I didn't like. It needs nothing. Not even a brace to the winch stand. I'm ordering a second one for my smaller stick steer boat. It might save me a trip to the ER sometime. If you are one of those guys that MUST have the best move on but if you like something that works good and appreciate value, you'll love it. DS ... show more

    • Tight fit on a Tracker trailer
This is a well-priced, well-built item and I was really excited to put it on. It works well for what it is, & supports my 250+lbs to board the boat. No fault of the steps themselves, but it's pretty tight for my application. I have a Tracker 190TX with a folding tongue. I've found that the winch handle can interfere with folding if it's in the right spot. I feel that I really did install it in the best possible spot on the tongue, but the steps are uncomfortably close to the tailgate even when the trailer is completely square behind the truck. If it's slightly to the side it will hit the tailgate. I have a truck with a power tailgate & have, on more than one occasion, caused it to open while driving, which is a big concern using these steps. I used to lower the tailgate to see better when backing the empty trailer down the boat ramp, but now that's not possible. If I were to move the steps any closer to the boat, the nose of the boat would make contact when docking it on the trailer. I think the only way I could be more comfortable would be to find a hitch that extends another 6" or more behind the truck. If I don't do this I'll likely take it off. ... show more

    • Hardware was missing
The steps and the safety bar showed up just fine and appear to be of the quality that I paid for. That's what I gave the stars for. I however is sore about the fact I am not patient enough to wait for them to ship me the hardware that was missing. I now am going to go search me down the hardware and then I can put it on the boat. I paid for convince and now it's not. Boo hoo. But still someone had 1 job and they messed up. Thanks ... show more

The only thing I don't like is there is no anti slip tape or pads on the steps. Other than that they are great. Very happy with the purchase
