This order is the second time I have purchase these items and they work great for securing my kayaks to my vehicle. Drove 600 highway miles with canoe on roof rack. Exceptional stability. No need to reposition if you do not lift the hood once in place. I used cam lashing straps (no J hooks), makes for poor visibility. Once at my destination I converted back to my ropes. They are always tied on my canoe handle so connection is super easy and make for useful connections to a dock. No wind swaying when used with a stern tie down as well. First photo w straps.
