I installed this thing on my Jon boat to operate a 40# thrust Minn Kota endura trolling motor. It worked fine the first few trips but now it tends to stay on after releasing the button. It requires very little pressure to activate the switch and then sometimes I have to press it numerous times to get it to disengage. Being a DIY type my first inclination was to take it apart to troubleshoot, but it appears the plastic housing is cast as one piece over the switch mechanicals which means the only remedy is to replace it.     • Won't turn off...
The spring inside the switch is not strong enough. I have this setup on the bow of my boat to operate a transom mounted trolling motor for flounder gigging. On my first trip out it failed to turn off the trolling motor when I lifted my foot off of it at least a half a dozen times. It almost threw me out of the boat once when I hit a dock. I had to stomp hard on it multiple times to get it to shut off. I definitely do not recommend this version and I will buying a different brand to try out. ... show more
