Features

  • FILTRATION: Purigen ranges in color from almost white (cream) to light yellow. Seachem Purigen is not a mixture of ion exchangers or adsorbents, but a unique macro-porous synthetic polymer that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water.
  • SELECTIVITY: Seachem Purigen is an organic filtration resin that works hard to remove nitrogenous compounds and waste produced by fish, corals, and even plants, making your water crystal clear.
  • CAPACITY: Being both spherical and macroreticular, Seachem Purigen has microscopic pores that increase its usable surface area to many times that of a purely spherical resin.
  • REGENERATION: Once Seachems Purigen is exhausted, it can be regenerated with a solution of bleach and water. The bleach will literally burn off the organics that have been removed from the tank.
  • SAFETY: Some slime coat products may permanently foul Purigen and render regeneration difficult. Do not reuse if odor of bleach/chlorine is detectable. In case of doubt, soak beads in small quantity of water and test for residual chlorine with a chlorine test kit.
  • Age Range Description: All Stages

  • Always effective
Size: 100 ml Style: Resin + PhosGuard, 100 Ml
Had a little issue with Nitrates in my tank (heavily stocked). Put a bunch of Purigen and Phosguard in my sump. Just a few days later the Nitrates were about half of the original levels. Phosphates dropped a little slower, but also lowered. Left in place I'm sure I'd end up with zero readings on both. I don't want that because of my plants. So I'll need to tinker a little to get 5 ppm on the nitrates and stay there. I use a bunch of different products in my aquarium, but Seachem seems to be the most reliable. Their stuff just works. ... show more

  • Fantastic product
Size: 100 ml Style: Resin
Has worked wonderfully on a fish tank with excessive amounts of tannins. This little pouch packs a real punch for removing tannins from the water. "Installation" was simple. I rinsed it very well before putting it into my sump and let it go to work. It removed a very noticeable amount of tannins from the water before I considered it "depleted" and recharged it according to the provided instructions. No complaints at all, 10/10 would buy (and will buy) again. ... show more

  • Beautiful, clear water
Size: 100 ml Style: Resin
Use this in my aquarium. It has made the water crystal clear. Buy two, so when one is exhausted, you have one to put in the aquarium while you recharge the first.

  • Did what was promised
Size: 100 ml Style: Resin
I just added a whole bunch of driftwood to my 55 gal and the tannins were so thick I couldn't see the wood or my fish! I understand they are good but, jeesh! I bought Purigen, hoping for miracle. At first I didn't see as much change as I was hoping for, so I did a 50% water change, and the next day it was almost clear and has stayed that way. If your tannins are very concentrated, do a water change, then start this product and it'll work like a charm! ... show more

  • Clear water!
Size: 100 ml Style: Resin
If regular filtration is not enough to make your water crystal clear do not hesitate to buy this product. It works overnight.

  • Definitely improves tank clarity but had a problem.
Size: 100 ml Style: Resin
Definitely cleared up the tank but I discovered a .5" break in the bag along the seam when I removed it for its first recharge. Would explain why I had a fair amount of the media get away when I rinsed it and then media getting in the tank when I installed it. Recharging, while not difficult, literally takes days so you'll probably need multiple bags and store them damp after they have been used. Allowing them to dry out after first use causes issues with the media. ... show more

  • Works perfectly
Size: 100 ml Style: Resin
Put in my canister filter and water is crystal clear now.

  • Keeps water crystal clear!
Size: 100 ml Style: Resin
We have a piece of drift wood in our tank for our freshwater fish and shrimp to hide and sleep in. The color from the wood can turn the water brownish but this seachem filters and clears the water right up. Keeps the fish and owner happy!
