I’ve tried one of these lasers before, but that wasn’t a good experience and it was way too expensive, but with the holidays coming up I thought I’d give it another try and decided to try this one. This laser does take a little while to put together so don’t rush it. Once it’s assembled it seems pretty sturdy and well made. I’m still getting the hang of it, but it’s a lot of fun and I’m enjoying playing with it. The idea is to put some personalization on some holiday gifts for our friends and family and I think it’ll do a fantastic job for our purposes. So far, we did a few test engravings and they came out really good. I’ll try to gets some photos or a video of it doing it’s thing and will add later. This is a very reasonably priced piece of equipment for the quality you’re getting so we are very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

Wish I had never purchased this laser. I haven't been able to get it to work since I purchased it. Would love to get a refund and ship it back to the seller but can't. What a waste of money.

Takes some time to assemble but does have very detailed instructions. It can be customized pretty well with the software. I chose the one for beginners and it still had a lot to it as far as detail goes. I will point out that after only one use there was a lot of rubber coming off the wheels for the top rail. And that rail came with the tension set and belt installed. The other belts I installed. You have to make sure that you set the guide lines or parameters yourself or it will hit the ends due to lack of safety switches causing the motors to click till it gets stopped. Still a pretty decent value here but you have to kinda know what you are doing and test everything safely first. The detail in this one is really good and can be adjusted as well for instance the amount of lines engraved per millimeter which I think is rather cool. I chose the halfway point which was 10 lines per mm. You can see in one of my photos how detailed 10 lines is. You can adjust the power levels and in some cases when cutting through something you might require multiple passes to accomplish that. I wish the cable connections weren't on the front and honestly the cable management isn't the best in my opinion but it all functions just fine. Many of cuts are off by 3 mm and do not match Print in LightBurn. SO Nope. get something better.

This is my first engraver so I can say I got it to work so thats a big deal for me. I am still tweaking the process to get things to look right but so far so good. Will update once I have more samples to judge by.

The media could not be loaded. Rating this is difficult for me. I can't make a fair assessment, to be frank, since I'm fairly new to laser engraving, and can't really compare it to anything else. I think if you're a pro at laser engraving, this laser engraver might be exactly what you are looking for at a good price. I don't really know. What I can say is I'm overall really disappointed with laser engraving so far, especially for what I was hoping to use it for: asset tracking. Ok, more about this laser engraver: 1) Directions were really clear, but it was still a bit of work to put this all together. There was just one part of the instructions that were wrong, but it was easy to figure that part out. 2) Comes with pretty much everything, including focal measuring tool, protective eye glasses, sample wood pieces, and USB cable. 3) Seems to be kind of slow. But, I'm learning that the speed of engraving can be controlled by the software. It will affect the quality of the laser engraving. 4) The engraver has ruler markings along the XY axis, but these are just dumb. For one, you need to eyeball the object against the rulers. There's nothing along the laser so you can flush the edge of the object against the (0,0) coordinate. But, even if you could, you would need to offset the actual (0,0) coordinate in the software, since this laser engraver doesn't align properly with the (0,0) coordinate. The laser unit itself is about 1.5 x 1.5". The laser diode is in the dead center of that. So, you need to offset it by a half (since it's in the center of the laser unit). I can't properly align the laser right now, so it's all just guess work on where exactly the laser will start engraving on the object. Finally, this isn't so much a gripe about the laser but laser engraving in general. This particular unit, though, will not etch clear plastic. So, if you were hoping, like me, to etch clear plastic, look for a C02 laser instead. Also, this only etches along the XY axis. You cannot do anything along the Z axis. So, just flat engravings will only work. All in all, I'm just disappointed with laser engraving in general. I'll probably get rid of this thing in a few months. ... show more
