The media could not be loaded. Received the laser in a very timely fashion. First and foremost, customer service has been 100% satisfactory and "Alexyoung119977" has been superb. I mention his name specifically so you will know that if you get him from support you will be taken care of. I have only had it for a little while now however I am very pleased. I went with the 5W version as this is my first laser and didn't want to invest a whole lot until I knew how it would do. I did get the generic add on air assist as well as a honeycomb bed so keep that in mind regarding the performance I am writing about. Side note, you should get both add-ons as they will make your experience just as good. I have been very surprised at its performance. I was a little worried about getting a 5W but that worry has went away now. I have been cutting 1/8" (3mm) basswood and aspen without any problems using LightBurn with speed of 2mm/s and power of 100%. I have also been etching both woods as well and have great results, I get a great burn at 60mm/s and 40% power. If I want darker I just increase the power or slow it down or even both. Still trying to get all my settings tuned in. I have not used the factory software that is free from them to perform work however I have used it to modify some settings. LightBurn was a fantastic software add on. I have also cut 5mm and 1/4" plywood in two passes without issue at 2mm/s and 100% power. I wasn't sure how that was going to work out but it did just fine. I have done slate coasters as well without any issues. Soon I will be trying out on acrylic. As with all lasers the performance you get will be based on settings and environment. As I mentioned at the start, the two add-ons will make a big difference and some trial and error with settings will get more tuned in with time. Another thing you really need to do is make sure its focused on the material. X-Tool has made that part very easy and convenient by having a drop down tool on the side and an easy to adjust lever / thumb screw on the side. I also took that in account when I was looking to buy. When I am ready for a more powerful laser I will definitely be going to X-Tool. This has been a great purchase. I have attached some pictures and a video of its performance and in it working. Note the video with the cable drag chain seen, that was a 3d print add-on for the connectors and chain purchased on Amazon, that is not included in the product that you will receive. Not needed for function however it has added more convenience for me and I have full use of the working area without the worry of a wire getting dragged when engraving. ... show more

Xtool D1 Pro came beautifully packaged with really helpful manuals and accessory tool kit. Even included sample materials and some lubricant, I assume for the guide rails, which BTW are steel, not plastic. Which brings me to comment on how well the D1 Pro is built, really solid and very good looking. I got the golden red one. It was easy to set up and the free software downloaded from Xtool is all you need. Since I bought my machine Xtool has upgraded the software to the point I do not feel I need to purchase any other software because the xTool Creative Space doe everything I need it to do. I bought the 5 watt but since its easy to upgrade, I also purchased the Infra red module from xTool which can engrave on metal. xTool's support has been phenomenal. they always respond to my inquiries. I had a really old Mac Book that had issues running Creative Space but they helped me out and no more issues. BTW Creative Space now runs wirelessly on iPads and iPhones so you don't even need a computer anymore. The best part is that the machine has literally paid for its self. Actually more than paid for its self. There is a huge market out there for all the things you can make with this laser. I'm having a ball creating things with my new machine. ... show more

I have the Xtool d1 pro and I upgraded the laser to the 20w. The laser machine is solid, well built and easy tot use. The software is well designed and updated frequently. I had trouble with the machine and even though it took a while, the company did send out replacements as needed until it was resolved. ... show more

I pushed off troubleshooting the update firmware from the beginning. My bad, but it still worked and I would figure it out later. Long story but the engraver did not get used for 7months, since April 2023. Now I really need the update and the only support they offer is emails in the middle of the night. I have had a dozen emails, with suggestions that don't work. I've ask if I can get on the phone to a tech support and I am ignored and get another email suggestion that is not working. Instructions for assembly were a little lacking, especially for someone who had never used a laser engraving machine before. Fortunately there were vids on-line that helped. Using the machine was a lot simpler, and was pretty idiot proof. I was somewhat disappointed that the description didn't represent reality. System doesn't allow use on leather, although the description said this was a surface that could be used. The wider and more defined image lines seem to work better than images with finer lines. I used different types of wood and found that the darker woods seem to create the best images. The photos show how well the skull, octopus, and tiger head were defined. The second photo slaws the same for the lion. The catfish was okay, but the train engine wasn't as well defined. Overall I'm pleased with how well this has worked. I've got some projects that I want to do and this should do the trick. Since I'm probably going to use it for mostly wood engraving it'll get the job done. ... show more
