Description

Grubs and other listed insects can do extensive damage to lawns by feeding on grass roots. Damaged turf turns brown and is easily pulled up by hand. Prevent turf damage with Scotts® GrubEx®1 Season Long Grub Killer. A single application of this granular insecticide can kill and prevent grubs for up to 4 months. This grub killer also kills caterpillars (armyworm), chinchbugs, May/June beetles, and more (as listed), and can help control Japanese beetle infestations when applied annually. Apply Scotts® GrubEx®1 Season Long Grub Killer to a dry lawn in the spring or early summer to kill grubs as they develop. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product. For Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreaders, use a setting of 3 ½. For Scotts® drop spreaders, use a setting of 5 ½. For Scotts® Wizz®, use a setting of 3 ¾. Water in thoroughly to activate. People and pets may re-enter the lawn after it has dried. The maximum number of applications for this product is one per year. One 28.7 lb. bag of Scotts® GrubEx®1 Season Long Grub Killer covers 10,000 sq. ft.

    • Who knows if it works or not?! But I didn't notice a grub problem this year.

It's difficult to know if a product such as GrubEx works or not. I did not notice a grub problem this year although I didn't go looking for it either. Once in a while I would give a hunk of grass a tug and it never was loose so no grub problem there. In past years I paid my landscaper to do a grub treatment and I had no grubs then either. The only issue I had this year was my Scott's Wiz handheld spreader got stuck and stopped working a couple times. But even that could just be the cheap spreader, not the GrubEx. At one point while fighting with the spreader, it suddenly let out a big bunch of GrubEx where I was standing and about 6 weeks later, the grass started to die in that very spot. By the end of the summer, that small area was as dead as a door nail, not only no grass but not even a weed. So be careful not to spread more than the bag indicates. I should have vacuumed some of it up or something. ... show more

This product worked great and fast to eliminate the grubs from our yard and ultimately to send the gofers packing looking for a new yard to trudge through. Would purchase again to ensure permanent defense against the grubs and gofers.

I finally put a nice lawn in my back yard, looks great. Then the grubs started showing up (little dirt piles) causing small dead spots. Used this and now lawn is in recovery.
