Purchased for my son who wanted a go kart for Christmas. I have to say, this was the perfect gift. It's very easy for him to safely maneuver. He's 8, a little on the small side for an 8 year old, and it's perfect for him. His 11 year old brother really likes it too. A great gift for kids who have outgrown scooters and are interested in more age appropriate ride on toys. Definitely exceeded my expectations! It was a bit tricky to put together, the instructions are pretty brief, but it's doable. The sensor of right wheel doesn't work 7 months later than purchase date
Honestly, it is a bad deal although it is not expensive. We bought this tool on July 15, 2019, it is a gift for my son's birthday. It is fun, and my son loves it. Unfortunately, it stopped working last week (middle of Feb, 2020), so totally its lifetime is 7 months. We noticed the return window closed on Aug 17, 2019. So we can't return it per the policy. Not sure if there is service for repairing and what the cost is. The problem is easy to describe. Its left wheel still works, it senses the pressure on the surface and rotates normally. But the right wheel doesn't rotate anymore. Not sure if the problem is caused by sensor or motor. ... show more

Weight distribution affects how this operates

I bought this for my 11 year old grandson. He is 5’3” tall and around 135lbs. The weight limit is 260lbs. The battery is not powerful enough to handle his weight. When contacting the seller it was explained to me that he will benefit by standing up on the hoverboard only. The weight distribution of the person’s body will change how the hoverboard runs. It’s really cool but frustrating for an 11 year old who expected to be able to ride it like a go kart for a while. A Christmas gift for my 8 year old nephew! He loves his Hoover Board with and without the seat! Great battery life and easy to charge. He loved all the lights and how fast it goes! He is somewhat of a lite weight so while in the seat he cannot lean back too far because it does tip backwards. But it doesn’t throw him back just tips… helmet is always on! This hoverboard is awesome! My grandson absolutely loves it! And the seat attachment is definitely an added plus. It works great! My grandson is 5 and was able to get right on it with ease.
