Awesome purchase
Color: Black
This was a replacement for my old Sony XBS-43 which while the sound was great, the party mode frustrated me to no end (connecting multiple speakers). So let’s talk Auracast. The auracast (JBL version of party connect) is SEAMLESS. I have two of the extreme 5 and they link right up, allowing whole house in and out sound while I’m working in the yard and house. And the sound- they have a great, full sound with good highs and solid bass. The loudness is significant and battery life is quite good even if the volume is up. They are expensive but with it. ... show more

Sounds good as hell not to big but a good size for the noise it's makes , really deep bass , I've only charged a few times and I've had it for 2weeks battery last forever . And it looks good and really cool LED's like if it's raining it's material works really good for running it right off but not dunk water proof but still I've sat out side in a storm with it and it's works just fine "I would recommend putting something in to plug the charger port if u do works even better 😊🙌. ... show more

JBL Xtreme 5 Review – The Speaker That Made Me Stop Using My Bigger Systems
Color: Squad
Bonus: If you have an apple phone turn on your EQ in settings and be prepared for the experience of a lifetime. I'm approaching 60 years old, and after decades of enjoying high-end home audio, car audio, headphones, and portable speakers, it takes a lot to truly impress me. The JBL Xtreme 5 has done exactly that. I currently own the JBL Charge 6, a PartyBox 110, and a PartyBox 710, so I'm not comparing the Xtreme 5 against small portable speakers—I'm comparing it against some of JBL's most respected products. What surprises me most is that I find myself reaching for the Xtreme 5 more than any of them. In fact, since purchasing the Xtreme 5, I rarely listen to my PartyBox 110 or even my PartyBox 710 anymore. That's something I never expected to say. The reason is simple: JBL achieved something remarkable with this speaker. The Xtreme 5 delivers an incredible amount of power and sound quality while maintaining a compact footprint that can easily move from room to room or travel anywhere. It offers the perfect balance between portability and performance. The sound itself is absolutely breathtaking. The first thing I noticed wasn't the volume—it was the detail. Songs I've listened to for years suddenly revealed instruments, background vocals, and subtle nuances that I had never fully appreciated before. Every sound intended by the artist is presented with clarity and precision. Whether I'm listening to Steely Dan, classic rock, jazz, blues, R&B, or modern music, the Xtreme 5 brings every track to life. Vocals are crystal clear, instruments sound natural, and the bass is deep, rich, and controlled without overwhelming the rest of the music. What really sets this speaker apart is how clean it remains at higher volumes. Many Bluetooth speakers become harsh or muddy when pushed hard. The Xtreme 5 simply gets bigger while maintaining its composure and detail. The Charge 6 is an excellent speaker and still amazes me for its size, but the Xtreme 5 takes everything to another level. It provides a larger soundstage, deeper bass, greater dynamics, and a more immersive listening experience while still being compact enough to carry anywhere. At this stage in my life, very few products exceed my expectations. The JBL Xtreme 5 did exactly that. It has become my go-to speaker and has largely replaced speakers that are significantly larger and more expensive. If you're looking for the most powerful, best-sounding Bluetooth speaker in a truly portable package, the JBL Xtreme 5 deserves your attention. JBL absolutely knocked this one out of the park. **5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended.** ... show more

WOW! VERY, VERY IMPRESSIVE
Color: Black
How in the world do they get so much out of such a little box. Its not audiophile quality but its clear, dynamic, listenable and the bass is solid. Set up took 2 minutes. This is my second JBL (Authentic 500). I had thought about spending less but considering how much time I spend outside I super happy I made the investment ... show more

Get Two!
Color: Black
These things are pretty amazing. Rather than wiring a stereo system for the pool, we bought two of these things. They sound great around the pool with much more bass performance than expected. We use them as stereo speakers for the outdoor tv and they sound almost as good as our soundbars in the house. Take one to the beach, even bring one when we travel by car for music in hotels and such. Great choice for the price point. ... show more

Terrific Speaker
Color: Black
Great speaker. Loud and clear, travels (without obstacles) around a quarter mile from what I tested. Hefty size but still very portable, it’s good value compared to the more expensive boombox’s. Battery lasted all day at max volume, around 9 hours.

Quality sound, bass response
Color: Black
I just upgraded from a 10 yo JBL Xtreme 1 that finally died, so no real surprise that this is a significant upgrade. Much better bass response, overall headroom/volume. I love that it's fully waterproof and not just "splash resistant" - the thing seems very rugged. Battery life is great. USB-C is sufficient and future-proof. Obviously somewhat expensive but if you're looking for something loud enough for a backyard bbq that's still convenient and portable, it's a great unit. ... show more

Too big
Color: Blue
Great sounding speaker however its extremely big and bulky though nothing special to be honest. Kind of expensive for what it is. I think there are better options on the market in this price range that can do more.
