The tubing feels reasonably sturdy and hasn’t kinked or cracked despite being tossed in and out of the car and used in less-than-gentle situations. Just last week I used it in a parking-lot exam to distinguish between simple bronchitis and something more concerning in a wheezy patient, and it handled that job just fine. One consideration that might bother some shoppers is that it is a bit lighter than the high-end scopes, so it doesn’t have that hefty, “luxury instrument” feel in the hand, but that actually makes it more comfortable for me to carry and use as a backup. As a healthcare professional that uses a stethoscope on a daily basis I can say with complete sincerity that this is manufactured well with clear sound and functions perfectly. The addition of the dot on the throat to indicate the active side and the floating diaphragm I feel would be of great benefit to students starting their journey into medicine. The hard earpieces successfully block ambient noise so that you can concentrate on your patient. The rubber is thick and well made and will survive all those long shifts around your neck without distorting as some stethoscopes I have used in the past have done. This is a tool that will last. Additionally it comes with a detailed booklet on use with diagrams on how to clean and where to listen on the chest so that if you not a healthcare professional but simply want a good stethoscope for home blood pressure or to listen to yourself and loved ones this is a perfect choice that would last you years. Lastly, I love the color, it's unique enough that hopefully it won't walk off the unit. If you are on the fence about purchasing this stethoscope, do not be. I highly recommend it.
