E’d up and ready to go! I got this bike because a) I am getting long in the tooth. B) I have a really bad back and knees but wanted something to help me keep in shape. I hadn’t ridden a bike in years because my back and knees made it just too painful to get up hills. Not a problem with this bike! It has made rising fun again. The fit is more upright than a mountain bike and way more comfortable. The display and functions are easy to see understand and execute. The shifting is smooth and the electric boost seamless. I have the mid drive motor which makes it feel more like natural pedaling instead of the rear hub which I have been told makes you feel like being pushed from behind. It is heavier than other bikes I have had but even an old lady like me can lift it In two goes front wheel then back onto my cars bike rack. So I can take this anywhere and so far I have all the way from New Jersey to New Mexico. Now for the down sides and there are a couple. I have a step through and it is really tight to do with the battery where it is but I just lean the bike to me to make it easier also get a heavy duty bike lock as ebike are a prime target for thrives. This is my second one as my first was stolen. Regular insurance won’t cover their theft either. All in all this bike has given me back some joy in life I thought was lost and for me that is priceless. ... show more

    • Nice Bike. Disc Brake Not Properly Adjusted.

Once I installed the front wheel it wouldn't turn. I had to pay a local cycle shop to adjust the front disc brake before I could ride it. After he recalibrated the brakes for me, it's a very nice and fast electric bike. Worth a Five Star Rating.

Love this bike. It was easy for my husband to assemble too. My only problem is that there’s not a lot of room between the battery and another bar coming down from the seat. Anyway, I’m an average size woman with average sized feet, and I got tangled up in the pedals and that small space when getting off. Needless to say, I fell flat on my back. That was in September and now it’s November and I’m still not over it! I’d just say, be real careful when getting on and off the bike. ... show more

    • Solid, fun and reliable E-bike

I purchased two of these Schwinn E-bikes 3 years ago on Prime Day and have been using them since, mostly during trips in our Class B van. Because they are pedal assist E-bikes, they are very quiet and fine for use in State and National Parks, where the use of the throttle on E-bikes equipped with those is mostly prohibited, from what I've read. While they are not the fanciest or most trendy of E-bikes, they have given us a lot of pleasure at a price point that was half what many E-bikes cost. The ride is solid and the battery life has held up really well. We've never come close to running low on battery power during our recreational rides. The variable level of assistance is especially helpful on hills and when riding in wind. On flat surfaces, I can ride with the power assistance turned completely off to preserve the battery. It's a heavy bike, so I was glad we chose the step through model, which makes getting on and off and coming to a stop easier. Using some degree of assistance to get started from a stopped position definitely helps counteract the weightiness of the bike. With regular cleaning and lubrication, we have experienced no mechanical issues. The one problem we have had is that the display screen fogged up pretty quickly and has stayed that way, making reading the monitor somewhat difficult, especially in sunlight. I haven't found a solution for that problem yet and took off one star for that. But overall we are happy with the purchase and really enjoy these bikes. ... show more
