I'm getting used to Amazon providing an abundance of choices for some merchandise, and there are certainly a lot of these cases with customizable foam padding to choose from. I selected the Lykus brand primarily because they use two layers of "pluckable" foam instead of just one, which allows the user to customize a cavity in not just two dimensions, but in three dimensions. The full-length hinge also seemed like a good plus. I could see that the padlock holes weren't metal-reinforced like they are with some brands, but I was getting the case for protection against bumps and jostling during transport and not for travel security. What I couldn't tell, until I received the case, was how dense the foam was, or how well the latches worked. The foam, it turns out, is nice and firm, but not so dense as to make the case excessively heavy, and separated into 1 cm by 1cm columns. And the latches are an unexpected delight. I am used to cases with simple hinged clasps that provide a secure closure just by snapping tightly into place, but sometimes require the user to push down on the case lid (slightly compressing the rubber seal between case body and lid?) to latch or unlatch the case easily. The Lykus latches are a big improvement. They open easily after a light push on the upper portion of the center "button," and latch readily and securely (just make sure they "click" closed). These latches are a small but appreciated pleasure to use. ... show more

Overall, very similar quality to Pelican. Two noteworthy differences: - The Lykus’s foam is slightly firmer which I prefer. The pluckable sections also seem to be a little harder to remove, another plus in my opinion. - The latches don’t inspire much confidence. Compared to Pelican’s, they are a lot lighter and do not pull the lid tight. I have no experience to say for sure it is or is not strong, but it makes it harder to trust the case. That said, I’m still using it since it’s the perfect height for my D3400 to sit upright. And I’m not planning to go to war with it. ... show more

For my fellow programmers…. Since benchforce no longer offers a hard case with purchase, very disappointed with that but no worries. This case corrects that issue immediately. You can even peel off benchforce logo and cover case manufacturer logo!

Pluckable area ALMOST PERFECT! The rest of the case is very well designed & constructed. If only it came with a DIVIDER so you would be able to use it for 2 tier storage. I made one myself (see pictures) All in all an excellent case.

I’m new to gun ownership myself, but knew I needed a case. My criteria: - Something to secure the weapon - A place to keep its equipment - Can be locked for travel and approved by TSA - Sturdy and waterproof while appearing classy - Protective but easy to access without aggressive latches - Interior foam that I could configure to fit my items I studied cases for days and settled on this Lykus case because it met all these criteria and is nicely priced! I have to say, this is a great case! The foam was easy to configure and there is two layers of it, so I can secure some items vertically to save space. One comment to consider: the foam is thick- which is nice - however my pistol is relatively thin which allows it to “migrate” under the egg crate down of the lid. So I’m going to slice the extracted foam in half to raise the gun up enough to touch the foam of the lid - a minor nit for me. I like this case so much, I’m getting one for my wife and her firearm! I highly recommend this case for anything delicate or fragile and especially for a sidearm! ... show more

This was probably just me, but i didnt actually go out my way to measure out how big the actual case was. I was expecting something at least 1.5x times bigger than what i got, but nonetheless, i still think it's big enough for what i need! I was able to fit 2 mirrorless bodies as well 4 lenses and some accessories. I did order 2 ( one for audio and one for camera bodies and lenses) the audio one hasn't gotten here, the smaller one, will do a review when it arrives. The quality of the case itself is VERY good. The foam was easy enough to take out as well. Im confident this will be a great way to bring my gear around to shoots in a safer way than just a standard camera bag. If you're shooting on a mirrorless system i think this would be great for you! for future-proofing i would consider getting a bigger size just to have more flexibility. Im pretty happy with what i got and im sure you will be too! ... show more
