I was a bit concerned with the taper shape. The dimension wasn't made clear to me, but the shorter face is indeed fine so that it can act as a "Machete", or beater for my 10" weaving width for Band Loom and Card Weaving work. Several looms such as the Harrisville Size B, the Beka Beginner's Loom, the Heddler (Etsy) and others have a 10" capacity. This will work fine, and also as a pick up stick. The smoothness of the finish is also superb. Highly recommend.

I love the beauty of this stick. It’s very obvious that it’s quality craftsmanship. Unfortunately, the finish on it is very slippery, which makes it difficult to keep in place when using my small heddle loom because the loom tilts towards my lap, causing a downward slide. Am not returning it because I’m hopeful that I will find other uses for it.
