  • SAVA Gravel Bike Is OUTSTANDING!
UPDATE - 02/10/2026 Since I first reviewed this SAVADECK T800 gravel bike, I've had an opportunity to put some miles on it on and off smooth road and dirt travel. I have not been disappointed in the least! And the compliments keep rolling in, whenever I'm stopped somewhere along the way. The color is a standout, eye catcher. It has run flawless w/o any mechanical problems. I've concluded it is a solid investment in a quality gavel bike and am confident, that you'd feel the same should you purchase it. BTW, they also build what looks like an outstanding road bike, the SAVADECK SLR8-Ultegra Full Carbon, which was my original plan until I saw this gravel model. While I already have a nice road bike I had built for me about 15 years ago, I was ready to bite the bullet and after reading lots of reviews, purchase the SLR8. I can't quite justify that right now after ponying up for this gravel bike. I'd betcha though that the road bike is outstanding and just like this gravel bike, you'd have to pay a heck of a lot more buying one of the 'popular' so-called 'name brands' to get a comparable bike to the SAVADECK SLR8-Ultegra Full Carbon- like an xtra $1,000.00++ Lastly, I've had a couple of communications with SAVADECK and their customer service is prompt and excellent. ========================================================================================= Original post: I can attest to the quality and overall build of the SAVA Gravel Bike. It took approx three weeks to arrive here in SC. Unfortunately, I missed getting some pics upon opening the box and pulling it out. What I can attest to was that it arrived in perfect condition due in large part to the detailed care SAVA put in securely wrapping frame and components with thick Styrofoam padding. The only negative I would say was they don't include assembly instructions. In general, since it is 85-90% already assembled it's pretty simple with the one assembling the stem for the handle bar. I found that guessing that part was fruitless. Fortunately someone here did do a vid showing the sequence and direction of the pieces. I chose the gold frame color and as soon s my wife saw it she remarked how sharp it looked. Leaving the building for an initial spin around the property parking lot a young couple got on the elevator on the way down and immediately commented on the color and how sharp the bike looked. (Good choice Jeff! :->) Subsequently, I went for an inaugural ride- 13 miles. That was enough to break in the brakes, that initially had a little squeal to them, although they worked flawlessly. That squeal by the end of the ride and dissipated completely. The shifting was flawless up and down. The wheels were trued up pretty near perfect, so it traveled straight and smooth. Should add that this initial ride was on 'The Swamp Rabbit Trail' here in Greenville, SC. It's a relatively smooth biking and running trail that runs for about 34 miles along the Reedy River. It's a really beautiful ride and as such attracts a lot.. a LOT of bikers. This gravel bike responds quickly and can turn on a dime, which given some of the traffic makes it great! I'm looking forward to my first off the beaten path this upcoming week. Let me add this to SAVA's credit if you happened here doing a general search for info on SAVA/SavaDeck bikes and maybe looking for a full road bike and not specifically a gravel bike. I had a carbon road bike built for me by a company out in AZ about 17-18 yrs ago. Good bike, but I wanted a fresh ride. Initially, I went to BikesDirect, where I had my wife's road bike and a Ti mtn bike years earlier. Sold that just prior to moving to south coast NC- no mtns. not even a slight hill. Great bike but useless along the beach coast. I didn't find exactly what I was looking for the customer service apparently didn't have the time or interest in responding to my inquiries. Dumb! So I began to search for another option for a top tier bike that wouldn't break the bank. I perused a LBS here in Greenville. They had some sweet rides but those tickets for what I wanted started at about $3,700.00 and ran upwards of.. get ready- $15,000.00!!! My wife rolled her eyes exclaiming, "How mentally deranged do you have to be to spend $15,000.00 on a bicycle!" LOL Obviously this LBS that offers top tier bikes including for the most discriminating tri-athletes. Obviously, I'm not that 'discriminating'. :-> Given the aforementioned bike trail, I was looking at SAVA's outstanding full carbon, 18 lb. sweet road bike, however, after much thought and wanting to get back to off trail riding here at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, I eventually settled on SAVA's Gravel Bike as the perfect compromise for on and off the road riding and I have zero regrets, none, nada! I got what a lot of so-called 'name brands' price out at typically $35-3,700.00 but that road bike, I'm confident given what I have in their Gravel Bike, I'd love that bike too! So my point here is if you are actually researching for a road bike, don't hesitate, don't blink just pull the trigger and order their road bike. You'll be thrilled with what you get! Good luck. And BTW, I was initially considering their road bike, when I opted for the gravel version instead, however, I'll betcha I'd really love their road bike with top tier components and a ballpark <18 lb bike for about half the price... or less of the brand--name bikes, who by the way have their frames mfg'd. in China and possibly even in a SavaDeck factory. We haven't seen SAVA as a big-time bike mfgr. brand here the the USA, however in Europe and other countries, they have a huge presence often their riders are on the platform at the end of those serious competitions. So go ahead and buy with confidence! ... show more

  • Great bike for a great price
I currently own a few other road bikes (a TT/Tri Bike and a Kestrel RT1000). I chose to purchase this bike as I wanted something in between the two. This bike fit that bill perfectly. I did a lot of research before buying another bike. I was skeptical at first about purchasing a bike from a lesser known brand (at least here in the US). However, after doing some research and comparison shopping, I felt confident in my purchase with SAVA. The frame is light. It certainly has the light weight but stiff response of a carbon frame. The 105 components are good as well. Yes, Ultegra and DuraAce are better, but 105's will get you where you need just fine. The shifting is pretty responsive and smooth as is the breaking. The thing that sold me on this bike over other brands was the inclusion of the 50mm carbon wheel sets that come INCLUDED with the bike. Most bikes include aluminum wheel sets. If one were to shop for 50mm wheel sets alone, it would be hard to find them for anything under $750/pair. Most would easily cost upwards of $1000 or greater. These come INCLUDED on a $1500 bike. The wheels are light. They sound cool when riding. The only drawback is when it is windy outside, they act a bit like a sail and can demand greater attention when it gusts. Regardless, I still love them! When the bike shipped, it came much more assembled than I had originally thought it would. It took a very short period of time to put it all together. I was probably riding the bike within an hour of opening it from the box. There was NO damage from shipping and the shipping time was less than anticipated (about 20 days from click to arrival). Overall, I am VERY pleased with the purchase and have really been enjoying my ride on this bike. There is a legitimate reason why this bike only has five-star ratings (at the time of writing this review). I would certainly suggest this bike for anybody looking for a good carbon frame 105 road bike. ... show more
