This is a very nice bulb. For a 40 W bulb to light up the entire area around my king size bed and much more is incredible. It's very bright and just the type of white light I like (5000 k and 6000 lumens). The light shines straight up and all around the bulb through the shade. Also, some light reflects out the bottom too. Hope it last 25000 hours, which would probably be about 10 years for the amount of time I will actually use it. It's a high price but it's basically the only light I use for any length of time in my small apartment. The only other lights are in the bathroom, kitchen area, and closet. ... show more

This light bulb is very bright. Not like halogen light, it cannot be used in a closed enclosure, due to the fact that it is a LED light, which has circuit board. I did not notice the requirement until I found one physically burned. When using properly, this is a very bright quality light.

I purchased a total of 3 of the bulbs. One was placed in a single ceiling fixture and is still working after about 3 hours of accumulated use. The other two were put in a double light fixture and the first of those two failed in less than 24 hours with less than 2 hours of use. (Probably less than 1 hour). Frankly, the light emitted from just one of the bulbs was sufficient BUT within the next 12 hours, with less than 2 hours of illumination time, it failed. I have low expectations for the remaining one, but I shall wait until it fails to replace it. Not recommended. I did get a response from Sansi regarding the bulbs. Ultimately an explanation was given that “ From your picture, I noticed that you used both bulbs in the enclosure of the ceiling fan. Please note that this bulb can't be used in a full closed fixture or any recessed lighting because of the hollow design. As you know, the heat will be generated from the bulb to the air inside the fixture, and then the high degree will let the bulb become defective. It will reduce the life of bulbs.” I wouldn’t really consider the bowl like fixture, completely open at the top, to be “enclosed” but keep that in mind if you choose to go with this bulb. ... show more
