I’ll update this review over time but for now I’ll give my initial impressions of this pop up. (First impressions March 1st 2026) First off this tent is super easy to set up and super easy to install, it takes about 5 minutes to set up without practice and install took about an hour but most of that was situating it evenly on the truck itself. The built in mattress is very comfortable and the window panels allow for great air flow. It feels like it’s very sturdy and well built, everything is pretty intuitive about set up and takedown. I haven’t had the chance to test the water proofing yet but it seems like it would be great. The gaskets around the shell are good quality and with the compression clasps adjusted properly it should seal tightly. The rain fly looks to be well built and of good quality, it looks like it would do great in a moderate rain storm or snow. Because of its color it gets pretty warm if it’s sitting in the sun but if you open the window covers the airflow is awesome! The zippers are smooth and high quality so I see no reason why they would wear out any time soon. The ladder is sturdy and light weight but the locks can be a little tricky at first, once you figure it out it’s very stable. The added cable supports to the middle frame bar make the deck very stable, more stable than I was expecting. I’ve got mine mounted on 7” bed bars on my 3rd gen Tacoma and it sits below the roof so there’s no change to the airflow over the cab. My truck has a 3” lift on it but this tent is very stable even with the body roll back and forth. I’ll be adding an AC/Heating system at some point but don’t have one yet, the built in vent for an AC/Heat unit is super convenient to have. I’d really like to mount a solar panel on it to connect the built in power panel to but I’ll have to do some DIY work to get that wired up. It’s not listed in the description but the tent comes with both the mounting hardware and a patch kit so you won’t need to buy those. Overall it feels like a great tent and I can’t wait to test it out! (Update March 8th 2026) I removed a star because…. I went to remove the tent from my bedrails and found that the hand tightening nuts had stripped around the internal nuts in the plastic housing, in order to get these tight enough to actually hold the tent in place they end up stripping around the nut. I used a reciprocating tool to cut the plastic handles off the nuts and then back the nuts off with a ratchet. I would recommend simply using the supplied lock nuts instead of the hand tightening nuts they caused more of a problem than they are worth in my opinion. ... show more

Love this tent! Super easy to set up and pack down. It feels huge inside but doesn't kill my gas mileage on the road. The built-in power ports and LED light are game-changers. Very solid construction. Totally worth it.

This thing is NICE!!! The zippers are solid, the mattress is decent and the canvas is sturdy!! I haven’t used it in cold weather yet, but the ports for A/C and heat will be helpful. I really like this RTT and the footprint while closed, fits my bedrack perfectly. If I HAD to say something negative, it would be that it’s cumbersome to open and close. However, I’m coming from a ground tent, so it’s not an issue for me and I’m sure I’ll get faster the more I use it. Soft shell space in a hard shell package. ... show more
