  • Superbly built and great value for the money
Style: Fuji X Color: Silver
This is a manual focus lens and it is not digitally connected to your camera btw. So you will need to make sure that your Fuji is properly adjusted to be able to shoot with this thing on. But once you get it working, I will tell you that this thing is a dream. It is a perfect lens for landscapes, food, and realty shots. If you've never used a manual focus lens before, don't be deterred as it is extremely easy to use. The settings on the Fuji X series will help you identify what is in and out of focus very quickly. You'll be shooting from you lens like a pro in no time. As far as the individual lens goes. It takes very nice photos with soft edges. The lens itself is superbly built in a nice metal housing that looks like it can take a beating. I would wager to say that it appears to be more solidly built than significantly more expensive Fujinon XF WR lenses that I also own. I would not want to test this len's water resistance, as it doesn't claim to be weather resistant. But I will say that the focus ring is very very smooth and that the aperture ring is very smooth and clicks at each setting. This is going to help me check out other lenses in their lineup down the road. ... show more

  • I had had a fisheye lens like this for a Sony Alpha and a Sony Nex ...
Style: Fuji X Color: Black
I bought a 8m f2.8 lens for my Fuji xpro2. I had had a fisheye lens like this for a Sony Alpha and a Sony Nex so I was familiar with it. The image quality was good. After two weeks I also bought this lens 12mm f2 I was so impressed by the 12mm I sent the Fisheye back. The Fisheye is good for a little experimenting weird effects. But that got old with me fast. I could not take the edge distortion. The 12mm F2 is not as wide but it is wide great image quality and little or no distortion depending on what you are shooting. Photoshop has the ability to correct any distortion the 12mm causes not so with the Fisheye but why would you on a Fisheye. As for the manual focus. I set it at infinity or a little shy and I can get everything in focus from 4-5 feet to infinity. It will focus down to 7 inches which is amazing for a wide Angle lens. I found the focus features split image and focus peaking don’t really work for me. I just use standard focus and magnify when shooting below 4-5 feet. Its great for environmental portrait photography to tell the story. ... show more

  • Very Sharp Wide-Angle Prime for Fuji XT-2
Style: Fuji X Color: Black
I purchased this for a road trip through the southwest US with my new Fuji XT-2. It worked great for my wide-angle landscape shots with incredibly sharp images from the foreground to infinity (see images attached). Though it's fully manual, for landscape shots on a tripod, it works perfectly and intuitively. The focus peaking with Fuji also make it very easy to check what will be in sharp focus when composing. It's appears to be very well built and super light weight. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone wanting a sharp, wide-angle prime for Fuji X mount cameras. The filter size is 67 mm which also makes it a great addition with the Fujinon 16 mm f1.4 lens and 18-135 mm lens for a light weight travel kit (all with the same filter size!). ... show more

  • Decent But Too Many Flaws
Style: Fuji X Color: Black
Others have written of the various faults of this lens. My biggest complaint was the really awfull chromatic aberrations on any bright subject. Sometimes it was too much to correct well in ON1. I also didn't care for the color rendering (shooting on Fuji). It was difficult to match it to my Fuji lenses and even with correction it still was just ok. FOV was almost too wide for all but a few sorts of landscape shots (14mm seems plenty wide). Ill probably just be saving my pennies to get a fuji wide lens. Had high hopes for this one, and it's decent if you can accept its limitations, but it isn't deserving of rave reviews IMHO. ... show more

  • Fantastic Lens!
Style: Fuji X Color: Silver
Dramatic field of view. Extremely sharp lens. Manual focus is easy to handle with my Fuji XT-30 focus peaking. Fantastic build quality. There is something special about this lens. Great bargain!

  • Super Sharp Lens
Style: Fuji X Color: Black
I bought this to use with my Fujifilm X-T2 for landscape. I am amazed at the quality of this lens, both the build and the image quality. You can not go wrong with this lens especially for the price! It is a manual focus lens but don't let that deter you from buying the lens especially since the Fuji has focus peaking to assist in getting a sharp focus. ... show more

  • Probably the best ultra wide angel option for your Fuji X system.
Style: Fuji X Color: Silver
This is probably the best ultra wide angel option for your Fuji X system. You can spend a lot more for Fuji 14mm or 16mm f/1.4 but this lens is actually very close to their image quality while providing even wider angle of view at a fast f-stop. The focus ring is stiff which is normal and there is slight lens mount play which is also normal as with most other Fuji X lenses. The center image quality is already good wide open and reaches optimal image quality from f/4.0 to f/5.6. Corner to corner sharpness is average but considering the focal length that is more than good compared to others. This lens is actually said to be sharper than Carl Zeiss 12mm Touit f/2.8. Review Update: I have to revise my review as of September 2016. I've had several copies of this lens in various mounts and feel that there are too many manufacturing variances. Lens focusing is too stiff and infinity focus/marking is often inaccurate and different depending on your copy. If you get a good copy it performance really well but there are simply too many variances and inconsistent quality control issues. In the end I've decided to sell these lenses or return them and look for better built alternatives. ... show more
