I have a lot of pain in my heel in the left foot. I desperately bought seven different pairs of shoe inserts on Amazon in an attempt to help decrease pain and heal the problem. Some pairs were very intrusive making walking nearly impossible. Other pairs were better. I am listing them in order from most uncomfortable the most comfortable and supportive. PCSsole 3/4 Orthotics, 330+ lbs Plantar Fasciitis 3/4 Length Insoles, Plantar Fasciitis 3/4 Length Insoles High Arch Supports Orthotic Insoles, Plantar Fasciitis Orthotic Shoe Insoles, QBK High Arch, Dr. Foot 3/4 Orthotics Shoe Insoles and Dr. Potter 3/4 Orthotic Insoles. I bought the 3/4 length instead of full length so I would still have plenty of space in my shoe for my toes to move around. I liked the Dr. Foot and the Dr. Potter inserts the most even though it took time to get used too. What I had trouble with in all the inserts there is a tendency for the shoe to tip when making left or right turning movements. I like to run trail trails and that would increase my chances of rolling a foot laterally causing me to fall and/or sprain an ankle. So I went back to Amazon and research more orthodontics. I came across Samurai Insoles Ninjas Plantar Fasciitis Relief Arch Support Shoe Insoles. They were purple and looked funny in the picture. I did not purchase these before because they looked flimsy to me. I bought them out of desperation. They actually slide in under your removable shoe padding (unlike the others I bought that went on top of the padding). I slid my foot into the shoe thinking this is just going to be a stupid idea, but it was far more comfortable than any of the other inserts I tried. The insert going under the foot padding actually made my foot more stable than the other inserts did. That was a plus! Then I noticed my foot did not hurt as much when I put weight on my heel. That was also a plus, but then I became concerned that it only felt better because I was not changing the pressure on my foot in a way that was going to give me the "correct" support I needed and I would in the long term just run into more problems (pun not intended). I decided to give the inserts a test. I went for a short walk and my heel was l little tender, but still much better than having no insert at all. I decided to mow my lawn. A small lawn that only took about 20 minutes. My foot actually felt better after mowing the lawn than it did before I started. Go figure? With the other inserts I would have had to sit and rest with my foot up for about an hour. Anyway, I have worn the inserts for a few days. My foot is slowly getting less and less painful. This was a relief in itself as I have had this pain in my foot for over 7 months with no sign of getting better. Hopefully, my foot well get better and I will be able to running the trails again. Right now these inserts are my best option. For that I give them 5 stars! ... show more

so far after one day of wearing them there seems to be improvement in my heel and foot pain. Going to see how this next week goes, then may get another pair or two for other shoes. Love that they didn’t require cutting, but getting the factory insoles in my shoes up to put these under was tricky because they are glued down. These are the best. Ordered one set, wore them all day and heel pain was gone all day. The only problem is they have to go under the insole so I ordered another pair to keep from switching them to other shoes. They are not bulky and you feel the lift a little. Work great.

So I was really hesitant to spend the money on these. Plantar fasciitis is so painful I was willing to try anything. I just got them last night. I am on my feet all day. So I tried them today and followed the instructions. I was expecting to have to take them out at some point in the day….but guess what??? I still Have them in since 6:00 am and my feet feel the best they have in weeks!!! I am AMAZED AND THANKFUL I gave these inserts a try ... show more

    • Let's Call Them Comfortably Uncomfortable

Every shoe is different, and I have found no one iteration of any of these products works universally for all of my shoes. For instance, if you have insoles glued in, these obviously won't work. Also, some shoes have thin insoles and rely on the sole of the shoe for the bulk of shock absorption while other shoes offer a more substantially padded insole. Because these inserts are hard plastic, a well-padded insole will be considerably more comfortable. They will feel mildly uncomfortable, like you feel when you're stretching sore muscles, because that is what needs to happen to heal up; you need to stretch these soft tissues. But, I find that I can wear these all day, and my feet don't become fatigued. Also, if you spend any time on a ladder, the hard plastic shank does wonders for keeping feet from becoming fatigued. The 3/4-length design means that you don't have to try to cut them to fit your size of shoe. The little Velcro pads mean that the insole NEVER slips out of place. I now have two sets of these; one for a pair of Addidas athletic shoes and one for a pair of Columbia hiking shoes. Both are well suited to these insole inserts. ... show more

    • Didn't work for me; sports med doctor recommends cushioning and arch support vs a hard insert

I bought these hoping for a quick cure. When my sudden onset PF got worse I made an appointment with a sports med doctor who deals with a lot of plantar fasciitis. He tells me I need cushioning, not a hard insert for PF. That seems to be what he recommends for all his patients. It turns out I also have high arches so I need an insert with high arch support. I ordered PowerStep high arch versions, which I didn't even know existed, but available here on Amazon. This is not a criticism of the product per se, which seems well made, it is just not good for me. Since it is just a half-foot insert it does not improve arch support. My advice would be to ask a sports med doctor before you order. ... show more

    • Made foot pain worse after use

These worked ok while standing or walking, but my foot would ache and burn terribly when sitting to the point I couldn't stand my shoe being on and relief was immediate as soon as they were off. I felt my foot pain was worse after use. (I did have them under the shoes insoles.)
