I just received this tablet which is a replacement for an older Fire 8. The Fire's wifi reception was slow and being stuck with the Amazon environment were the two major reasons for buying this Tab A7lite. (I did get the Google playstore on it.) So far it's been an excellent choice. It's wifi reception is very strong & fast compared to the old Fire. Obviously no hoops to go through to get to the Playstore. It also updated to Android 13 with no problems. The Samsung processor is very quick. Sound is OK, if I need better sound headphones provide it. Waiting to see how the battery performance is. I depleted the battery yesterday to about 20% installing/setting up stuff. So I put it on the enclosed charger. It is NOT a fast charger like my phone. I'll update this review if something significant come up.

My wife's Amazon Fire Tablet finally bit the dust after she accidently dropped it far too many times over the last few years. She had cracked the case in a few places and broke the internal system board where the headphones attach. This Samsung Galaxy tablet sadly replaced the Amazon tablet that she enjoyed so much. We love Samsung's sturdy metal frame. The built-in Gorilla glass screen is also a plus, although sometimes it takes a little extra pressure to activate an on-screen icon (although not as much pressure as an after-market addon screen requires). The tablets larger size combined with my wife's small hands contributed to her dropping it several times since I purchased it for her. The tablet survived the shocking ordeal like a champ! I upgraded her tablet to a 256GB mini-SD external storage chip for a very reasonable price. I don't see my wife using any more storage space than that, even though chips with larger capacities up to 1TB can also be purchased for reasonable prices. One drawback: The mini-SD chip has to be removed and inserted into a PC in order to pull data from it - attempting data transfer via the supplied USB-C to USB-A cable only pulls data from the tablet's internal storage itself, and not from the external mini-SD chip. However, Amazon sells several mini-SD to USB-A or mini-SD to USB-C adapters from different manufacturers under $15 that will readily perform data transfer to PCs that do not have built-in mini-SD ports.

I use this as an ebook reader. Including some comics and occasionally some discord. When I'm reading a book, 10/10 experience. When I try to use an internet browser 6/10 experience. It's really slow and painful and sluggish. Which is crazy right guys? Cause computers with 1/10th these specs used to be cutting edge and browse the whole internet super fast and smoothly without issue and now somehow devices orders of magnitude more powerful chug on modern web pages and web browsers. Why? :| When I do something sorta-demanding like Discord, 3/10. It'll load. But oh my god there's delays on input and touches nonstop. Everything basically happens on a 1-3 second delay if you're remotely taxing this processor. Either that or mine is defective in some way, but even if it was it's still a 4 star review. It was like 100 bucks for a freaking tablet and I can use it like a kindle without dealing with all the annoying stuff that comes with a kindle (sorry amazon kindles are legit annoying af to use for some reason plus all your shovelware can diaf) - so for what you pay, you get a serviceable tablet that will make you miss your modern smartphone's performance if you paid more than 100 dollars for your smartphone XD Ebooks and comics: 10/10 Internet browsing: 6/10 Anything as or more demanding than Discord: 3/10

My first Samsung tablet. I got it because it's the smallest one around and I wanted it to control my telescope, so it needed to be light as well. This is still a bit large, to hold in one hand and work the controls with the other, so I am getting a 'cheap' smartphone for that purpose. BUT, I am keeping this because it's a nifty little tablet. I can still load my stargazing apps and it's light enough to maneuver around the sky and point and have outside in my pocket with me. It's easy enough to navigate, albeit it is slow. I've used some games on it and it does okay with those, but if you don't need speed it's perfect. Oh, touch screen is a little funky, BUT, I have very dry fingers, so that could be a factor.

For those who is not too familiar with tech specifications, this tablet is not on the fast side - so DONT EXPECT it to be as smooth as your current smart phones. Remind you, its a $100 tech. Your contentment with this tablet will depends on how you are planning to use it. I personally, is using it as a "tablet for the family" as an alternative "remote" for our smart devices including the cameras. Also, It's screen size is friendly to the older members of the family. However, this would be a great pick for your young ones. For a $100 tablet, it would be more than sufficient for their needs --- watching movies, music and low demanding games. Most importantly, you wouldn't worry much about it getting spilled over with juice and breaking down. ENJOY!
