Our filter needed to be replaced for a long time. This past summer i went through cancer treatments in my neck. During the 7 weeks of treatments i lost all taste and smell. The one thing that was really bad is that i could not use regular forks and knives i had to use plastic as the regular ones would leave a metallic taste that would stay for a long time. This included water out of the tap and from our refrigerator. I didn't think a new filter would help as i had the same issues in restaurants that use filters for their soda machines which also dispense water. I was always bringing bottles of water to go out and eat or to the movies. Here i am 6 months after treatments and still know taste or smell. I decided to try a new filter to see if it would help so i could stop buying water as it was hard to come by because of the corona virus. I order the filter through amazon and put it in. I dumped a full gallon of water out after i installed it to make sure there was no residual in the lines. When i took a drink for the first time i was so happy to know that i did not get that metallic taste in my mouth. This filter has gone beyond my expectations. Replaced the filter that our fridge came with. Simply twist off old one, twist in new one, and the directions will indicate you need to let some water go through the filter before it can be used for drinking water, much like every other filter. Works, that what matters.
