I have 3 other Samsung TVs, all older models. All of them start up quickly and display the last channel, no problem. This one though takes 10-12 seconds to start up before it will accept any button presses, and has a weird user interface as seen in the picture. It won't simply display the last channel, but always defaults to a Samsung TV Plus channel instead. So to get to the channel you want it may take 20 seconds or more from turning the TV on. This newer TV is a definite step backwards from my older Samsung TVs! Note: I did finally find out that you can turn off several switches, deep deep in the menu structure, that keep it from defaulting to the Samsung TV Plus channels and the weird interface. Why they default these "on" is a poor design choice IMO because it makes the TV so unresponsive when you first turn it on. And the remote is a joke. The "simplified" controls on the remote are a pain in the you-know-where. It takes you at least twice as long to use it instead of a normal remote. Fortunately you can buy inexpensive remotes with number buttons and other dedicated control buttons that work with any Samsung TV out of the box. The picture on this 50" TV though is better than the 43" it replaced. It handles motion much better and is sharp and clear. Hopefully they will come out with a software update that will correct the long startup time and the user-unfriendly interface. Until then I just have to live with these annoyances. For any new TVs I buy I will consider other brands that offer a quicker response and a better user interface. Samsung needs to do better!

Does it make sense having mini led in 43" size? It is much more money than regular LED TV. video/audio Quality is decent. Remote is cool. I preferred a Google TV interface. Samsung user interface is the only disappointment.
