Phone must be within 2 feet of user with snore detection enabled through Samsung Health app version 6.22 or later. Requires Samsung Galaxy Smartphone with Android 7.0 or later, and Samsung Health Monitor app (available only at the Samsung Galaxy app store). The ECG Monitor App intended for adults 22 years and older analyzes pulse rate data to identify episodes of irregular heart rhythms suggestive of AFib and provides a notification suggesting the user record an ECG to analyze the heart rhythm. First off, the label next to my name says I’m a VINE VOICE reviewer. That is correct, however, please note that I paid for this watch myself with my own funds and the following are my unbiased and independent comments. I bought this watch brand new about 7 weeks ago. It is the standard 44mm Bluetooth Watch (not Classic, not LTE). This watch takes the best from Samsung (SS) and Google. The features are excellent but please realize that to use them to their full potential, you must use a SS Android Phone that is compatible with the watch. My phone is a SS Galaxy S10+ phone. My experience over the past years with smart watches includes four $300-$400 watches from competitors and none have superseded or matched the performance of this device (excluding battery duration without needing a charge). In addition, I owned the SS Galaxy Watch 5. The Galaxy Watch 6 counters seem accurate when checked with other devices that are calibrated and they are easy to use. For example, I do a lot of walking both indoors and out. The outdoor distance counter and GPS has been right on. When I walk indoors, it’s on a measured track that is exactly one mile. The distance counter on the watch is generally within a couple of percent of the track, which, in my experience, is far superior to those other competitors. With cycling, I’ve found the Galaxy Watch 6 to be great in measuring distances, speeds, heart rate, etc. The SS Health App teams well with the Watch 6. The UI is very similar to, if not identical to the others in the latest SS Galaxy watch family. The apps that are available for this watch are many and I’d guess are all interchangeable. Why did I upgrade from my Galaxy Watch 5? It was primarily due to the Watch 6’s upgrade to the hardware, but to me, it was important to have the technology that will seamlessly connect the watch to a new SS phone when the time comes to upgrade the phone. I understand this feature is available on the Galaxy Watch 6. Earlier versions require you to re-profile the watch settings when you change to a new phone. Did I have any issues with the watch? To begin, as others have noted, battery life could be better, but I am getting 2+ days on a full charge. I’m good with this, even though it is not as good as other brands. As far as recharging the watch, when I first received the watch, it took 2 to 3 hours to recharge, I felt this was excessive. There is the “Samsung Members” app to trouble shoot the device, and in addition, SS can “remote” into the watch through the phone to troubleshoot further. Don’t want to be repetitive, but you need a SS phone for SS Tech Support to do this. After some over the phone troubleshooting with SS and sending the watch back to them under warranty, they found that the charging cable was faulty and was the cause of the long recharge time. SS replaced the cable under warranty (after a 4 week long backorder delay), and now it takes an hour to recharge the watch from 20% to 100%. This is the expected time to recharge the watch. Kudos to SS Service, they were generally responsive in troubleshooting this issue and correcting it. I had a Samsung watch many years ago and I didn't like it at all. The battery life was so bad that it wouldn't make it to 5:00pm without a charge. After that I switched to a fitbit. I had that for many years and it was fine. The face was just scratched up and it was time to replace it. I did a lot of research before choosing this watch. I was a little concerned that as a woman, the 44mm might be too large. That has not been the case. I'm happy I opted for the larger face to get the additional battery life. I can go about 2 days without charging it. However, the charging is the one thing that I do not like about this watch. It charges really slow. I sleep with the watch on and as soon as I get up, I put it on the charger. It typically sits on the charger for about an hour while I'm getting ready for work. It only charges about 40% in that time. I have resorted to getting a charger just for my car so that I can charge it an extra 15 minutes on my commute to work. Other than that, I think I love absolutely everything about it. I am loving the contactless payment. I have having a passcode on my phone, so I never use contactless payments with my phone. The band that came with it is a bit long. I have it on the very last hole. I did purchase a thin adhesive protector for the face, so I can't attest to how easy it is to scratch. Besides the SLOW charging, I absolutely love this watch. And an added bonus that I wasn't aware of when I purchased it is that it will sync with my oculus when I do Supernatural workouts. Loving this watch! This is my first full fledged smart watch coming from two older generations of the Samsung Gear/ Fit2 watch series. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to handle the larger size and roundness of the smallest size of the Galaxy 6 watch at 40mm, but thankfully I've quickly gotten used to it. I do miss the sleekness and skinniness of my old Samsung watches which were more like wrist bands but probably would be difficult to utilize all the features of the G6 that my old ones weren't capable of. My main reason for swapping over to this more feature-full watch was to be able to have fully functioning text messaging on my watch instead of the very limited messaging of my old watches. Helps when you don't have access to your phone nearby and you need to do more than just a quick response to whoever texted you last. I also love the fun watch faces that weren't possible on my old watches. I chose a really creative gamer theme and it makes me smile every time I see it instead of some boring watch face. It's the little things sometimes. I have decided to continue to use my old Fit2 for days when I'm doing more physical activities at work (unloading truck, etc) to keep my new one as new as possible for longer. It's nice to be able to keep them both connected to my phone to swap out as needed. I think the only negative would be battery life. With my custom watch face and AOD turned off, I find myself charging it daily so it's ready for the next day. My old watches didn't have all the fancy features, had a simple face, and lasted for a good few days without charging. It's a trade off but a sacrifice I'm willing to make for more function and customisability. All in all I'm really glad I upgraded and can't wait to dive into more of what it can do! ... show more

I've waited over 2 years to review this watch. I'm pretty happy with it. So far no problems with it and its been used daily. I wore a FitBit 4 years and loved it, this one is better in some ways and not so in others. I'm happy that now I never miss a call or text when at work since it has silent mode with vibration. When my phone is within 50 ft or so, the watch usually picks up calls & texts. That varies depending on where I am, so it can drop or garble if too far away from my phone. One BIG negative is that this watch is power hungry, if I get lots of calls or image heavy texts, it drains the battery quickly. It needs to go on the charger almost daily! I like the big customizable display and its not too big on my wrist but that took some getting used to, I smacked it a few times. I like most all the health features for the most part, I don't use many so I can't review them. I use steps, sleep mode and heart rate mostly. The watch does pick up some activity automatically, but my FitBit was more sensitive to changes in activity level than this Samsung. I like the "emergency call" feature and I accidentally tried that and it works, but ONLY if your phone is within 50 ft and turned on. (Unless you get the standalone phone feature.) I'm not a fan of the interface with the phone, it has to "sync" with the phone to "send" the data so you can review it. My FitBit was able to bluetooth to my computer so I could look at the data in more detail and/or download it. This watch is phone only sync. I bought the Galaxy Watch 6 so that I could monitor my heart rate, sleep and steps. I particularly needed the availability of taking ECGs to discover Afib. I've worn it for 2+ weeks and am very pleased. The watch paired well with my older S10+ phone and was easy to set up. The display is beautiful and easy to read. I have used the ECG feature many times; I do get some "Poor Recording" notices but generally it seems easy to use once you get the hang of it. I particularly like the Sleep Coaching tips. The only complaints that I have are: 1. The charger did not come with a wall plug and none of the many that I had on hand worked with it. Some prior notification would have been nice so that I could have ordered the Samsung wall plug to arrive at the same time. Annoying. 2. The battery life is not good. Even with the Always on Display off, I charge it at least once daily and top it off before bed because sleep tracking is important to me. 3. I'm not convinced that the heart rate is accurate. The resting heart rate seems correct but I've noticed that, when I take it off of the charger, the heart rate on the watch soars even if I have not been doing much. 4. I did not love the silicone band which came with the watch. I bought one of the Samsung Hybrid T-bands and it is much better primarily due to the tail of the band not going underneath. I would definitely recommend this watch if you are already in the Samsung universe. The ease of use with my older Galaxy phone was well worth it. Coming from being an apple user and making the switch to android, this watch thus far is superior in almost every way in comparison. From the screen pixelation to sound quality to vibration intensity to superior app integrated. The samsung watch offers a variety of superior features which I think is definitely enticing enough for the switch. Coming from the apple watch it had the basics, the message replies, calls, apple pay, a few mediation and breathing apps, remote phone camera click and an ECG app that never worked. With the Samsung Galaxy watch 6 you're definitely getting better value per buck, you can use Google maps, a semi small but functional google web browser, a watch that measures your stress, gives you a decent review of how you slept from body temperature, heart rate and the cycles of sleep from rem to awake, a customizable watch face, Gmail, YouTube music, various work out apps, fitness and calorie tracking apps, games, a variety of music listening apps, etc. The only necessary cons I would mention about this watch is the voice to text feature isn't quite as consistent or picks up words correctly and the battery life is definitely a little short then my previous apple watch and the band that it comes with for us petite people is horrendous; I had it on the smallest hook and it was still about 3 inches above my wrist and would slide down, thankfully I bought a replacement band that is much better, however I would say for the value, quality and features this the watch to go. ... show more

I love the size of the screen. And I love how versatile the watch faces are. I get to choose what I want to see on the default face, which you don't get AT ALL with other watches I've tried. You're stuck with whatever the companies choose for you on fitbit and cheap knockoffs. I like being able to quickly turn on a timer, for instance, and I haven't found another watch that let's me put that on the face. I haven't tried Garmin or any of those other high end brands, but I'm satisfied enough with the Samsung being able to do this and everything else I want that I don't need to go that expensive. I also don't use this watch like a lot of others do. I've turned off nearly every feature I can, cause I can turn them on when I need them again, so the battery lasts me about 5 days, which is excellent. My old Samsungs have only lasted 3 days at best, also with turning off things. It's nice not to feel like I need to charge it constantly. So, definitely an improvement over older models, and my main reason for going above my budget getting this one. I'm not a super active person, medical issues, but I do try to hit steps. I love taking walks, so I turn on GPS at that time. If you're a casual user like me, this is definitely a great option. Some might think it's too large of a screen, but I appreciate seeing things at a glance without squinting (I'm 34). I get my notifications without issue, and I can read them well. And 5 days on a charge vs. 3 or less has literally cut down on my frustration and anxiety levels. ... show more
