I was incredibly skeptical about these glasses, but after real world testing for 6 months, they are legit. The high quality camera give you hands free video and pictures (no need to waste time pulling out a phone and potential missing a moment) and they double as earbuds, letting you listen to music and still having your ears open for conversation. These glasses also integrate AI, so no more google searching. Just say “hey meta” and any question goes answered. My favorite and most used is “hey meta, what time is it?” Lol

Great product takes nice pictures and videos with your hands free, answers calls, hears your music, and talks with IA in one gadget. Looks and feel like a traditional glasses including UV protection, in my case are transition glasses so I can use them in a sunny day and closed venue with comfort.

Reviewing after two weeks of use: Overall, my experience with the Ray-Ban Meta glasses has been positive, but I want to start with the negatives because I think it can really help people choose the right lenses. Do not buy the transition lenses if your main use is as sunglasses. Unless most of your use is indoors, I would not recommend them. The only way these lenses seem to reach a truly dark level, close to category 3, is if you are walking around while basically staring directly at the Sun the whole time. If you wear a hat, walk early in the morning or late in the afternoon, or if the sun is still bright but not hitting the lenses directly, they usually only get to something like category 1 or 2, if that. In real daily use, they are just not dark enough to be effective sunglasses. I honestly wish I had chosen a different lens option. Another big downside is that it does not seem possible to buy original Ray-Ban replacement lenses on Amazon. Most of the available replacement lenses are from unknown brands with very low ratings, which makes replacing the lenses more annoying than it should be. The camera quality is very good for both video and photos. Just do not expect to zoom into photos and still have them stay sharp. They are good for casual use, not for replacing a real camera. The biggest surprise for me was actually the speakers. They are very comfortable because nothing goes inside your ears, and the sound quality is surprisingly good. Overall, I would give the glasses themselves an 8/10, because I think the technology is good but the price is still higher than what the product truly offers. For the transition lenses, I would give them 4/10. They are useful in some situations, but if you need real sunglasses, they are not the right choice.

A Genuine Game-Changer for Manufacturing Management These glasses have been nothing short of life-altering for my career. As a production manager overseeing a manufacturing facility, documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) has always been a significant hurdle. My primary goal in purchasing these was to record high-quality POV video of processes, which I can then feed into AI tools to generate written SOPs. This isn’t just a win for my productivity; it’s a win for my crew, as it finally provides them with the clear documentation they need to succeed, relieving me of the stress that comes with inconsistent training materials. **Design & Comfort** I initially opted for the larger frame, but the height was a bit much aesthetically for my face. The standard size, however, is excellent. I have a history of headaches from standard eyewear after long days, but these remain comfortable for extended wear. They are impressively discreet—I had multiple people compliment them on day one without ever realizing they were smart glasses. They are convincing enough to pass as normal eyewear to the untrained eye. **Performance & Battery** * **Video & Audio:** The video quality is surprisingly clear, and the microphone performance is exceptional. I’ve taken several calls while wearing them, and the recipients couldn’t tell the difference between these and my phone’s handset. The audio is solid—provided you keep your expectations realistic regarding the low end. The bass is sufficient for daily listening. * **Battery:** This is the one area that requires adjustment. You’ll get about 30+ minutes of continuous recording, which drains the battery quickly. However, the charging speed via the included case is remarkably fast, which helps mitigate the downtime. **The "Unexpected" Features** While I bought these for SOP documentation, the note-taking and translator features have been revelations. On the production floor, I’m constantly pulled in four different directions. When I need to track material requests or quick process changes on the fly, these allow me to capture information immediately so nothing slips through the cracks. It has turned a single-use tool into an all-day essential. **Verdict** I am currently investigating sourcing safety-rated lenses to integrate these into my daily shop-floor workflow. While the frames themselves aren't officially safety-rated, for office-based procedures and light floor work, they have already become a staple of my daily routine. I bought the Meta Ray-Ban (2nd Generation) smart glasses with Transition lenses and ended up pretty disappointed with the overall quality. For the price — around $500 — I honestly expected much more. The only real strong point is the video quality in good lighting. In bright daylight, videos look sharp and clean. Photos also look great when lighting is ideal. However, as soon as the light drops even slightly, the video quality becomes very poor — it feels like something recorded on an old phone from the early 2000s. I did enjoy the built-in speakers — it’s convenient to walk around listening to music or taking calls without earbuds. That’s a nice feature. But the Transition lenses are very weak in real sunlight — the darkening effect is minimal and doesn’t really provide proper sun protection. The build quality is also disappointing. The glossy coating scratches extremely easily. When folded, the arms touch each other, and my glasses started getting scratched within just two weeks of normal use. Battery life is another big downside. When recording video — especially in 3K — the battery drains very fast. I constantly have to put them back into the case to recharge, which is very inconvenient when you spend a lot of time outdoors. The built-in AI feature feels completely useless to me — it doesn’t add any real value to daily use and seems like an unnecessary gimmick. Also, the lack of a pause function when recording video is very frustrating. If you need to stop for a moment, you have to end the recording completely and start a new clip. Later, when the videos sync to the phone, all those small clips have to be found and manually stitched together — and sometimes they don’t even upload in the correct order, which only adds more hassle. Overall, I’d rate these glasses a 3 out of 5. The idea is great, but for such a high price the quality, durability, battery life, lens performance, and software features should be significantly better.

Looks like regular sunglasses. 🤙 The AI is pretty basic. The responses are basic. Battery life is fairly good and the case as a portable charger extremely cool. Why did I get these? FOR THE CAMERA. The video recording is good. Good picture quality and this is the only camera glasses with image stabilization. When manufacturers make wearables recording video image stabilization is a must. Here its good. The footage is not shaky. But this coolness is only available in 1080p even though this records 2k or 2.7k. The app works fairly good but a tiny bit finicky as videos are not always loading to your gallery on phone or app automatically. The app in general is cool in creating some videos but again basic and limited with restrictions. The thing I don't like is connecting to an app which all these companies do to grab your data. Seems to be more about the app than the product. They only things that bug me about this is the 5min recording limit and the flashing light that is a distraction to the person being filmed. There are no blinking lights on our cellphones when recording. You can turn off LED blinking lights on all cameras but here they claim some privacy issues. When in public there is no right to privacy. When in private property and you suspect anyone recording with anything and you don't want it then say so other than than that there are cameras everywhere. They can record us but we can't record them? We don't need the blinking light and we need longer record times. I would like a seperate SD slot so I don't have to connect to my phone all the time to pull footage. These aren't waterproof so... This is a quality product with good audio and video. Interested in any updates to turn off the blinking LED and recording time extensions.
