A Fantastic Tablet... that WAS held Back by One Major Flaw.. but that has been resolved!

UPDATE: So this is an update to my original 3-star review of this tablet. About 2 weeks ago, the tablet received an update. When reading the update, there was nothing related to the connectivity issues in my previous review. However, after the update, the connectivity issue has been resolved. Prior to the update, the tablet would lose connectivity multiple times a day, and always when I was in the middle of using it. But since the update, it hasn't lost connection at all (not even once) in the past two weeks of almost constant use. I wanted to give it time just in case it wasn't really resolved, but it looks like the problem is no more. So I'm happy now to give this tablet the 5 stars it deserves. ----------- I really wanted to love this tablet because I'm a Samsung guy, and in almost every respect, it's excellent. I bought it to replace an aging iPad after trying two other Android tablets that were disappointingly slow. The Galaxy was everything those tablets weren't. It's fast, the display is beautiful, the interface is smooth, and the overall performance is exactly what I was looking for. Apps open quickly, multitasking is effortless, and the feature set is outstanding. Unfortunately, there's one major problem that completely overshadows all of those positives: the Wi-Fi connection. My first tablet would randomly drop its Wi-Fi connection. I assumed I had received a defective unit, so I exchanged it. The replacement did the exact same thing. Because I liked everything else about it so much, I gave it one more chance and ordered a third one. Same issue. This isn't a problem with my home network. I've used the tablet on multiple Wi-Fi networks and experienced the same behavior every time. I've also worked through Samsung's troubleshooting steps, along with countless recommendations from Reddit and other technical support forums. Nothing resolved the issue. After doing more research, I discovered that I'm far from the only person experiencing this. There are numerous reports online describing the same Wi-Fi problem across Samsung tablets. It's genuinely disappointing because, aside from this one issue, I think this is a fantastic tablet. If it could maintain a stable Wi-Fi connection, I'd recommend it without hesitation. But when a tablet can't reliably stay connected to the internet, all of its speed, display quality, and great features become secondary. I sincerely hope Samsung addresses this problem because it has the potential to be an outstanding device. ... show more

Perfect for what I needed.

I mainly use this for reading the news, and watching movies. It works perfectly for this. Graphics are more than good enough for anything I need. So far this has been rock solid. I use to use the Amazon Fired HD10. That thing was very undependable and would flake out a lot. This Tablet though has been flawless. Love the way you can add external storage. This is not what I expected. I surpassed all my expectations! The weight, size and color ara all so beautiful! It's on-screen touch keyboard pops up so fast. I like it and the battery seems to last pretty good. It is basically the same as my Galaxy phone. The pad responds quickly when pressed even through the protective case I purchased for it. The case makes it easy to carry with the shoulder strap. If you own a Samsung Galaxy phone, there are a few differences, but it is easy to adapt to. I purchased for a specific purpose, but I really like the screen which is bigger than my phone. I am using it for more than what I got it for. I bought a cheapy tablet before but it was WAY too slow. My Tab A11+ Laptop?

I use my table for on the go and sometime at home. My setup with a keyboard case, my tablet make for a great laptop. I use the DeX mode all the time. This helps for when I goto full screen [ ] what ever app I am using covers the status bar on top and the taskbar at the bottom. Without DeX mode the status bar on top always take up space. I only use like two maybe three apps at a time so, I feel my tablet is fast enough. However, in the developer mode, I did turn the animation off. Batter life is great, I lasted a whole day on one charge and that includes watching two full movies on Prime Video. I charge over night, but I also have the battery protection on to max and only charges to 80%. I love my little laptop setup for on the go. If you are looking for a real budget device, that can really take place of a budget Chromebook, it a good choice. Especially if you already have Galaxy account with your devices, you get "Storage Share" with Galaxy devices. Clipboard sharing, so I can copy on my S26U, then past to my Tab A11+. So the Galaxy ecosystem is cool. ... show more
