I really like this Samsung tablet. I had a smaller one that I wore out and this one is upgraded with all sorts of new things. There are only a couple things I don't like about it. It is so sensitive to touch, that if you pick it up the wrong way while it's on, you will lose your page. Also it has a split screen which I hate. It can be turned off. But all in all, it's a very nice tablet. I like the size better than my old one which was 7", although it is considerably heavier because of that. One thing I miss from my old one is that I was able to speak to it while in Skype and it would type what I said. Especially good if you don't want to use the on screen keyboard, which ends up being "hunt and peck." I haven't yet figured out how to get it to do speech to text in Skype. The best I could do was an app that took what I said and recorded it for the other person. This was annoying because I didn't know it would do that and it makes a rather large file. I did get a Bluetooth keyboard for it and that works great. So there are probably many things I have to learn about it, but I am quite satisfied even tho it's not perfect. ... show more

I received one a couple years ago for Christmas. It is my best friend, as far as electronics go. When I wanted to get one for my husband I came back to this same model. This is really a great tablet - very clear graphics, good sound, touch screen works well. The 10" size is perfect - not too small but not so large as to not be able to hold it with one hand and leave the other free for swiping and tapping. Just be sure to get a protective case for it, as it is very thin and although that is probably a positive feature, it does not make it easy to hang on to. ... show more

I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 because the newer game I was running would crash my graphics a few times a week. This tablet, with a better graphics speed and 0.5G more RAM (my Tab 4 had 1.5G), seems to have fixed this problem. Battery life is better than my Tab 4 is, even when the Tab 4 was new. The overall quality of this tablet is excellent and what we've come to expect from Samsung. I did, however, have a couple issues which I thought folks should know about, particularly if you're switching from another tablet. First, whereas my Tab 4 has the Home, Recent Apps, and Return keys on the long edge of the screen (on the bottom in landscape), they are on the short edge of the screen on my Tab A. Where this can be an issue is when using the Tab A in landscape mode because it's really easy to accidentally hit the Return key which, if you're playing a game, can put you in the hurt locker. Personally, I think where these buttons are on the Tab 4 is a better choice as, in over 2 years of using it, I never accidentally hit them regardless of whether I was holding it in portrait or landscape mode. Also, it seems like the magnetic pickup for the auto sleep/auto wake feature is too sensitive and thus, when the top of my Smart cover is flipped over, it tends to put the tablet to sleep. This happened with both covers I tried and there seems to be no way of shutting off the auto sleep/auto wake. So, if you purchase this tablet, keep this in mind and perhaps buy a cover without a magnet. ... show more

This is a great tablet, I wasn't sure about getting the international version but it works great. The only thing I had an issue with was resetting the location because this one was set to somewhere in Asia. Makes it a little hard when you want your local weather on your home screen. All in all a great tablet, worth the money. I would recommend this to anyone. The price is not that bad, the video play back is great quality and response is great even with the protective case on it and screen protector. I have never had to press very hard at all when making my way through the different apps and menus. Even resetting the location is not that hard though when you first start it is all in Korean or some other language but as long as you select the right option for language which was a lucky guess on my behalf everything else is easy sailing. The sound is great as well, when you turn it up it can get nice and loud...Either way I have not had any audio problems as it is not hard to hear even with the volume set at a low level. And there is no need to worry about connectivity as I was able to connect it to my wireless printer, and with the free download from the google app store had no problem getting the software that allows me to print straight to my printer from this tablet. ... show more

Disclaimer - I am not a tech nerd. I don't know a lot about tech specs. This is purely a user experience review. I am a die-hard Apple fan and initially had trouble with the Android set-up. I just wasn't used to how the settings worked and how the application set-up. But I ended up really liking how well the Samsung integrated the Google applications. I was always on top of my notifications. I purchased these for app development for work and testing and the screen really is huge. I was a little put-off by it at first but it was great for media. This has been a really nice find for me. After using several ASUS tablets, I switched to Samsung. Why? My Samsung tablet has proven to be a solid performer. Our tablets have traveled to multiple countries, survived drops and spills, supported remote desktops and generally done everything I've asked of them.
