This is amazing!!! I even have Google family connected so it tells me what he uploads what he been in. Bedtime lock and more!! For a 5 year old to have mindcraft (helps creativity) and all his other educational apps it works like a charm. Screen quality is great! One time I left him on it all day it is what he wanted as a reward an it was only on 40% by bed time. Mind you the games he has on there drain battery pretty fast.     • Great tablet at a nice price
I have had a Samsung Galaxy Tab S for many years and absolutely loved it. With 32 GB of memory though, I was out of memory, even with an sd card, and had deleted many of my apps to keep it running. Got tired of fighting the battle and decided it was time for a new one. I had purchased the Tab A for my husband a couple years ago, so I knew it had a nice sharp display and was snappy enough even at the lower price point. I'm on my tablet most of the time when I am home, checking email, social media, playing games (like Candy Crush, not heavy graphics games), and some work things too. Bought the 128 GB model and have been very happy with it. Moved my apps and files within an hour and was totally up and running again. Besides the price, being able to plug in my headphones was a selling point for me as I like to watch downloaded movies on flights. Battey life acceptable.     • Hope you don't need any repairs
I got the tablet for Christmas of 2019. Everything was fine until about about May. The wifi would start dropping out, first one then the other and they would drop out and eventually come back. I called Samsung tech support and went thru what they wanted me to do, even remoting in to my tablet. I sent it in for repair and when I got it back it did the same thing. Called tech support and went thru everything again, no change. I sent it to Samsung again for repair. When I got it back the wifi still dropped out. I called Samsung again & was told to send it in for a replacement. Here is where the real problem starts, after 2 months I called Samsung to find out where my tablet was. What I was told was they didn't have any inventory of my tablet so all they could do would be to give me a refund. Then I got told my refund would only be $53.50 since I used used points from my Amazon credit card, I paid $250 for it. When I asked to speak to the fellow's boss I was told that this guy was all the higher I was getting. After hanging up and calling again I was told they would pay $220.00 which would not replace what I had bought. I asked to them to wait 2 weeks to see if they got any inventory in. At no time did they offer to call someone, in Samsung, who could get the tablet (apparently their rules forbid it). I have spent a month and half dealing with the tablet support, talking to who knows how many people, getting sent to someone else, being put on hold for an hour and then dropped, 5 times that happened. last week I told them to send me my tablet back. I was assured it would be shipped out right away. A week later I called Samsung again and after the run around I had to call back the next day, nobody let me know. I called today and after 2 hours on the phone all I got was someone's assurance my tablet would be going out right away. I will update this review later. ... show more

Before my order, I compared the Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite Android Tablet with 10.1, Huawei MediaPad M5 Android Tablet with 8.4" and Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 inch 128GB. Huawei MediaPad M5 Android Tablet with 8.4" has better display resolution, faster processor but smaller screen size and older Android version (8.0). Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite Android Tablet with 10.1 costs lower than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 inch 128GB but has lower storage size (32GB) and older Android version. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 inch 128GB spec. has no RAM size listed. I checked Samsung WEB site it says 6GB RAM/128RB ROM. So I ordered the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 inch 128GB from Amazon. After I set up the tablet and checked the storage configuration I found it has only 3GB RAM/128GB ROM so I chatted with Amazon customer support. He offered my either with a discount or return the tablet. Since I really do want the 6GB RAM (my old Asus Nexus 7 has only 1GB RAM and now runs like a snail) I returned the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 inch 128GB and ordered it from Samsung and hope I will own a 6GB RAM tablet. After setting up the new tablet agin I found it only has 3GB RAM with 128GB storage. So I went back to check the Samsung WEB site Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 inch tablet spec. Surprise, previously the spec. was 2GB RAM/32GB ROM(storage), 4GB RAM/64GB ROM, 6GB RAM/128GB ROM, and now it is 2GB RAM/32GB ROM, 3GB RAM/64GB ROM and 3GB RAM/128GB ROM. Also the price for the 128GB version has being lowered. Amazon also lowered the 128GB version price. So I returned the Samsung order and reordered it from Amazon again(because I have some unused Amazon coupon balance) even this new Amazon order price is higher than the discount the Amazon customer support offered to me previously. To the tablet itself. The screen is large and crisply clear. Even it does not have the highest resolution, it is still very good. The response time is very fast. The storage size is generous (128GB). If it is not for the confused RAM/Storage size spec. issue, I will give it 5-star review. And even it has only 3GB RAM, if its spec. is clearly specified at the beginning, I will still consider to buy it because It has offered the best choice in this price range. As to the customer support. Both Amazon and Samsung online chat supports are great. Fast and responsive. Amazon support is especially great. The support staff is very courteous and offer solutions on the customer's stand. ... show more

The Samsung Galaxy tab a 10.1 inch display for 2019 is a fantastic tablet and a good buy for anyone wanting their first Android tablet. However, the only con about the tablet is the 10.1 inch display is not as wide as most therefore standard cases for that size tablet will not fit. That being said, I suggest anyone looking to buy this tablet research it thoroughly before making a commitment on the plus side it is small enough in the area of width that you could put it in a laptop case or a woman could put it in her purse without much issue. ... show more
