I could not be happier. This is perfect for a 1 bedroom apartment. You may want something more powerful for a large living room, but for an apartment, this is perfect. I snagged a returned HW-B550 for a great price, and paired with the rear speaker kit I purchased at an auction… MAN! This thing packs a punch and is perfect for a quick setup. Sound isn’t as deep as a higher wattage 5.1/7.1 channel setup however, it is almost as immersive. Doesn’t feel cheap (huge plus), and fit perfectly on my mantle. Even came with a mounting kit.

I purchased the HW-C450 soundbar with subwoofer. When I first set it up, I cranked up the subwoofer to see how good the bass is. I've never had one before, so I have nothing to compare it with, but I was really impressed. I used some subwoofer test audio tracks from Spotify and I could feel the bass deep in my soul. Really cool. But the next day, when I tried watching a normal show (connecting my Apple TV to the soundbar via Bluetooth), I didn't like it. First of all, after initially connecting the bluetooth, it wouldn't automatically connect whenever I turned on the Apple TV (I had to do it through the settings every time). But worse, whenever someone spoke, I heard a weird, low, gargly, scratchy echo of their voice. I knew that I hadn't blown out the speakers, and they were brand new, so I investigated. It was coming from the subwoofer. If I turned the subwoofer way down, the problem went away, BUT then the sound was too tinny because there were no low tones. I was very disappointed and was about to return it, but then I tried connecting the included digital optical cable to the TV and disconnecting the Apple TV bluetooth connection, and it instantly fixed the problem. I turned the subwoofer back up and got the bass back, but without the garbage echo. Long story short, in my experience the bluetooth doesn't work well for bass, but if you use the included cable instead of bluetooth, you get great audio. I plan to only use this soundbar with the cable from now on, which meets my needs, so 5 stars. Hope this helps someone!

The Samsung HW-B550/ZA 2.1ch Soundbar works great for the price! While you don’t get as many features as the more expensive models, the sound quality is still awesome. The Dolby Audio and DTS Virtual really enhance the listening experience, making movies and music sound more immersive. The subwoofer adds a nice bass punch, which is impressive for a soundbar at this price point. What I love most is how seamlessly it works with my Samsung TV and other Samsung products. Everything connects easily and functions smoothly, which is a big plus since I own a lot of Samsung gear. If you're looking for solid sound performance without breaking the bank, this soundbar is a great option. Sure, it lacks some advanced features, but for the cost, it’s hard to beat.

Purchased a new LED TV after 12 years -unfortunately the existing soundbar I added as not compatible with the new TV so I needed a new one. My criteria was simple: not terribly expensive, Optical connection required AND same brand (compatible components working together is a big requirement me). Search through a bunch of I found the B550 fits all my categories. the install and connecting it to the TV was easier than expected - the optical connection was immediately recognized. I also using Bluetooth for headphones when others are sleeping. Overall the sound quality was worth the price - it integrates with my TV remote (yeah a new Samsung QLED - that is a given it should work)... great experience.

I had been looking for a sound bar for a while. Not a big tech guy but knew I didn't something more than the TV was putting out. There's such a price range on these things from $50 to over $1,000. I stumbled upon this at what came across as a medium to low price point. I have all samsung smart devices so figured I try it. Well worth $170. Definitely more than loud enough for bedroom. I would say enough for a standard size living room. It is blue tooth but also came with optic sound wire to use as well. I would really recommend this to someone not looking to spend $1k.

In my 40 years of adult life, I have never cared about the sound of music or the sound of my television. Finally, I decided I had lived long enough to upgrade from listening to the television audio from the back of my set to the sound bar with booster. It was easy to connect, but instructions were lacking for set up. I’m a tech savvy person, but it took me a while and several YouTube videos to figure it out. Once hooked up, I was not wow’d by the sound. I’m not quite sure what I was expecting, except that perhaps I thought I was going to be fully satisfied with the sound. I give the sound a ‘meh’. If I had to go back and do it all again, I would not purchase this unit. But since I am a person that doesn’t really care that much about sound, I will keep it rather than break it down, box it up and send it back.
