Very nice speaker. Plenty of Boom Boom Boom! We bought it to replace our 500 bass module that we couldn't connect to our Bose 700 soundbar via Blutooth. Which, by the way, is the only way to connect the 700 soundbar with the 500 bass module. We couldn't connect via blutooth which is the only way to connect a 500 soundbar and a 500 speaker. We troubleshot the connectivity issue with a guy who provides Bose troubleshooting for a fee for out of warranty products. He is a non Bose company support representative and he did his best for $43. He decided the the 500 bass module was defective and could not be made to work so we needed to buy a new 500 base module. We ordered the 700 base module instead. The 700 Sound bar wouldnt connect to the 700 bass module either. Apparently our Soundbar 700 is the culprit ( Bluetooth doesnt work). A quick trip to BestBuy for a $7.00 audio cable and we are in business. So glad the 700 base module supports connectivity via an audio cable. BTW The 700 Bass Module isn't even on the same planet compared to the 500! Way worth the money. Very happy with our new Bass Module. ... show more

The worst part is its pricey. What was most important to me was for it to operate seamlessly within my system Sound system HAD to come on with the tv and cable box or it was going back I bought the bose new ultra soundbar first and got it working with little trouble, ordered this later Hooked it up with the 3.5 mm cable NOT included (cmon Bose, if I spend seventeen hundred dollars on a premium sound system, the least you could do is send me the cable to hook up with). Installation only took a couple minutes. I turned it on with the Bose music app and it just connected. No fuss. One button turns everything on and that controller also works the volume, You can change the speaker level (I set it to 20) and the bass/treble bias (I left it flat) I tried several movies one of which was the 1974 blockbuster Earthquake. It was filmed using Sensurround and gave a visceral feeling of being in the earthquake. This system is very close to that original sensation. VERY impressive. If the soundtrack is such that you don't need a big bass push it sits there unobtrusively until it's called upon. I also played Phantom of the opera. The overture must be heard to be believed. Streaming music is a joy. It is possibly the best music system I have ever owned. The short answer is, if you want the best but don't need to fill a theater drop the dime and get this system. I got this unit on a great sale almost half off. I had wanted to complete my soundbar ultra and this unit delivered. Great bass from a small unit. I had to plug it into the smart bar to get it to recognize the bass module. Once complete if was recognized wirelessly from the app. It produce great bass. Two units make for even bass sound. Bose delivers once again. If your on the fence I would consider this module to round out your soundbar experience. Wait for the sale as I got two for nearly the price of one. ... show more

Ok, bass module is actually great AFTER you add a 3.5mm jack cable and direct connect it to the soundbar. No one tells or shows you this before purchase. The issue is interference with Routers. Buy the 9$ cable and be done with it. Supposed to be "Wireless" but that is just not the case. Problem does go away but Amazon/bBose sell a product that is NOT what it says it is which is wireless. That's just a damn lie. ... show more

When you first get them and hooked up, they play excellent. Then give it a week or two and as they play, starts popping sound and goes out. It comes back on and still continues to pop. Someone needs to evaluate this because I have two, purchased at seperate times, that do the same thing. I thought the first one was damaged but I was sorely wrong. I love the Bose Bass sound and old quality, but these cost too much money to have these problems. If I could get a refund, I wouldn't hesitate. I don't know anyone that can repair these things. Buy At Your Own Risk... I MUST RETRACT THE ABOVE. AFTER FURTHER REVIEW, THIS SPEAKER IS GREAT. IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF DEVICES ON YOUR NETWORK, THAT WILL CAUSE THE POPPING SOUNDS.
