I just wanted to leave this review to help others. I got this as an xmas gift and again like others had experienced, mine would not turn on right out of the box. I thought it was broken or defective like the other reviews. then i read the fine print in the directions and to anyone else who may have missed this little detail....there is an activator switch you have to flip on BEFORE turning the device on. It is hidden in a spot you cant really see it. Had i not read the directions carefully i would have returned and thought mine was broken too. Once i turned the hidden switch on, then when i plugged it in and hit the power button it worked perfectly. The power button and activator switch are DIFFERENT buttons. The activator switch on my model was located in the panel box where it has the power button and different wattage buttons on the top tight...it is tucked underneath the lip of that panel.
