  • Great TV for the price
Size: 65-Inch Style: TV Only
This is an amazing TV for the price. Picture quality is great with vibrant colors. Audio output to my soundbar is incredible. The interface is snappy without any lag. The screen is bright enough for a room with some outdoor light. Setup was very easy and I appreciated the easy to install footstands, which required no tools or screws. The remote is unique and charges via solar, so it has to be kept facing the right direction. It remains to be seen how well it will stay charged with ambient light, but it can also be charged with USB. I don't particularly like the up/down audio/channel buttons. It is awkward having to slide the buttons up and down rather than directly press them. I find myself inadvertently muting the volume a lot. I was considering a comparably priced TCL with better raw specs, but I opted for the Samsung. Compared to another TCL Q series I own, the Samsung is more polished, less glitchy, and has much better upscaling and motion processing. Since I watch a lot of sports, this is very important. You'll need to adjust the judder reduction to your liking. Somewhere in the middle (3-6) works best for me. There are a few caveats. First, this is not a high end OLED or Mini LED TV. You should not expect the performance of a TV that costs twice as much or more. HDR is adequate and surprisingly good for the price, but not stellar. The viewing angle is not the best, and the TV lacks some features (it is only 60hz) that may be important for some. The picture needs some calibration out of the box. At first, dark scenes appeared a little washed out, but I was able to fix this by lowering shadow detail slightly. Here are the settings that I found work best: SDR Brightness: 45 Contrast: 50 Shadow Detail: -2 Gamma 2084: 2 Tone: Warm1 Color Booster: Low Blue Light Reduction: On Contrast Enhancer: Off HDR Brightness: 50 Contrast: 50 Shadow Detail: -2 Gamma 2084: 2 Tone: Warm1 Color Booster: Low Blue Light Reduction: On HDR Tone Mapping: Static Contrast Enhancer: Low I was considering splurging for a higher end model, but I am glad I didn't. This TV is perfectly suitable for general use and will make most people happy without breaking the bank. ... show more

  • Great Value! Samsung Quality!
Size: 65-Inch Style: TV Only
I purchased this model for a second home. All the TVs in my primary residence are Samsung and I am devoted to the brand for a reason - great picture and a quality TV. I confess that I am not a fan of the ever shrinking remote nor the solar charger in this model, but those issues are so minor compared to the fabulous picture at this price point. The unit is ridiculously thin with surprising sound quality. WiFi connection is flawless. I also use an OTA antenna for local channels which completes the cord-cutting. One other ding that Samsung should pay attention to - raise the leg stands just a bit so your sound bars fit under the screen without obstructing the picture at the bottom. This is an issue not unique to Samsung. Be sure to set the picture according to your room lighting. Out of the box the picture is garish - typical marketing, but some quick adjustments to Movie Mode, and some other tweaks brought an extremely good picture and color quality. The mat screen finish reduces reflection reasonably well. Another feature that makes this TV a great value. ... show more

  • Good value, lacks optical output, has slow apps.
Size: 75-Inch Style: TV Only
Great screen and colors. Ok menu design but slow loading of apps. No optical so not compatible with Sonos without an eArc converter which I had to purchase. I replaced the flimsy cheap remote that is not compatible with IR devices like Sonos with the previous generation IR remote and I can easily control the TV, Apple TV, and Sonos with it. No need to buy into the Samsung symphony (yet) since my Sonos has a lot of life in it still, but I’d consider it for tighter integration and not having to use the converter and free up an extra hdmi port in the process. The TV tries pretty hard to sell you subscription services for partner channels like all TVs these days, and quite prominently shows the Fox News App which I will never open. But aside from that, it works great with my Apple TV and has a feature that remembers which device was last watched, so when I power on it starts on the Apple TV each time. There is a game mode which I don’t use but has a bunch of cool options and changes the menu system. I think it was moderately worth the price but wish there was a way to turn off all the advertising. For a simple setup it’s Ok, but lacking optical in 2025 is quite a fail. I wouldn’t change my decision because I’m quite technical and have a background in audio and IT so can work around the limitations, but for an average person the lack of features like optical port, may funnel them into the expensive Q symphony sound bar purchase too as the on board speakers are pretty lacking in this TV. All in all it’s a good TV but for the price I think at least should have included an optical output. ... show more

  • Great TV but arrived damaged which ruined the experience
Size: 65-Inch Style: TV Only
The TV has excellent picture quality and looks great, so no issues with the actual performance. The problem is that it arrived with a damaged power outlet. It looked like it had been crushed during delivery. I had to carefully force it back into shape using pliers just to plug the power cord in. It was frustrating and made me nervous about causing further damage. For something brand new, I shouldn’t have to deal with this kind of hassle. It definitely took away from the excitement of setting it up. ... show more
