  • Samsung TV

  • It's Samsung - nuff said
Size: 65 Inch
It's Samsung. That could be the end of the review to be honest. We used to not think the brand mattered. A TV is a TV, right? Then, my son-in-law helped us find a new TV when our main living room television gave out several years ago. He convinced us that the brand did matter when it came to Samsung. He was absolutely correct. To be fair, he's right a lot. So, when our bedroom TV gave out, we opted again for a Samsing. The picture is superior. It's got a lot of options, but it's very user friendly. I house/pet sit for a living, so I use a lot of different TVs. I love it when they have a Samsung because no matter the year, I know I won't have to work hard to figure it out. They are so reliable. The color is gorgeous. We got a brand new sound system when we bought our last Samsung because the TV before that was absolutely unusable without it, but we ended up unhooking it and scrapping it with the Samsung because the sound was just as good without the system. When we got this one, we had the same experience. I didn't even look at the sound bars because I knew I wouldn't have to bother with one - and I was correct. You can, and if you're setting up a media room where you want surround sound, you probably will want to. This is for our bedroom, so not necessary. I love that their remotes are solar. I don't have to mess with batteries all the time. I like to have the TV on just for "company" and for the dogs when I'm not there. I'm also really bad about falling asleep with it on, so the living room TV and now this bedroom TV get used more than I'd like to admit. I do not fear wearing them out - and that's because of the brand. We got rid of our Alexa, but before we did, we had everything paired with it and it worked wonderfully. I just got tired of Alexa listening all the time, randomly talking to people who aren't there, and waking me up in the middle of the night answering questions that no one asked it. It was just as easy to take the Alexa away as it was to "hook it up" to it. It caused no problems, no glitches. I am completely sold on this brand, and once again, they've made a great TV. People in other reviews talked about how they were surprised how much better this TV is than the last Samsung they had since they were so happy with the old one as well. I agree. They're not like the iPhone, where they just make tiny and unnoticeable improvements just to say they've made a new phone (aka sell you a new phone). Samsung is working to completely outdo themselves - and everyone else. I have no plans to replace my old Samsung because it's still phenomenal. I'll use it till it gives up the ghost. I just plan to always buy Samsung forever. I noticed that other people did the same thing I did and went ahead and decided to stream through Firestick because it was easier for them. Since I use it on all my other TVs, I didn't even think twice about doing it on this one. I apparently made the right decision. You don't need it. I just prefer it. It's a system I'm both familiar with and happy with. I have a very, very bad back, so I can't sit in theaters anymore. I don't watch sports much - just college football. (I grew up in Oklahoma, what can I say). I do love movies, though. I love scifi, thrillers, action, anything big and colorful and fast. I miss the theater so much, but this TV makes watching my movies at home a wonderful experience. I almost don't miss the theater at all. Bottom line is this. It's worth it. It's easy to set up and use. The picture quality is beautiful. It's realiable. If you do run into a problem, it's easy to get help fixing it. I had a couple of small brain farts, and Youtube has videos to help. I can't recommend this brand and this TV enough. ... show more

  • My Third Samsung Big Screen Over 20 Years, All Still Working Great, Each One Better Than the Last!
Size: 65 Inch
As the title of my review states, this is our third Samsung TV since 2008. My first was a Plasma TV, the second was a 4K QLED TV in 2018, and now this OLED TV. All three are still in service, and have never had any performance issue; however, now the Plasma TV is now relegated to my shop, where I can watch a game, while working on a project. After unboxing this 2026 Model OLED TV, I set it up next to its predecessor, as I was wanting to see first-hand if it actually could be better than its 4K QLED counterpart. I was almost surprised to see how much noticeable difference there was. For those of us who grew up with standard definition TV signals, and a Big Screen was a 19" Cathode Ray Tube, it seems hard to believe a picture can possibly be any better. Despite that, this new TV does have an even sharper picture, with blacker blacks, and higher contrasts. It also has a visual effect that I haven't seen described, that just seems more pleasing to the eye. Somehow it appear as a more natural, while extremely vivid contrast picture. The only way I can describe it is that with my previous 4K QLED TV some scenes in sporting events in particular, had an almost video game quality to them. Not that the picture was bad, just that it was SO perfect, it didn't seem real, almost like they were computer generated images. Engineers may have a term for this, but I can only describe what now appears to be a perfect yet natural image, that is very pleasing to the eye. Set up was easy, though I think it was actually harder for me, because I already had a Samsung Account, with a secure password, and the old account, and the new set were not initially playing nice. It was not a big deal, and I suspect anyone creating a new account will actually have better experience. Connectivity was easy. Clearly electronics are getting better at talking to each other, and my soundbar, DVR, and streaming subscriptions all connected easily and without issue. Although this 65" TV is not as large as my previous 83" TV; with the even better picture quality, I was not nearly as aware of the difference in size as I thought I would be, at least so far. My final thought on this TV is that Samsung has made some significant improvements on its remote control since the last TV. It is much slimmer, slightly smaller, has a built in solar charger, and plays nicely with other devices, without any special setup effort. In closing, I can absolutely give this 2026 Model Samsung 65" OLED SE85H Series Smart TV an enthusiastic 5 Stars, and a hearty endorsement. ... show more

  • WOW - TVs have made a LOT of advancements - great OLED
Size: 65 Inch
I've owned a lot of TVs, but never made the jump to OLED as I could not quite balance the cost/size ratio for my budget, and was terrified of screen burn-in and low brightness. This model proves me very wrong. I love this TV, and all my future TVs will be OLED, probably. Highlights: - Typical high Samsung quality. They are a premium product for a reason. Great manufacturing quality. Light, but sturdy with no flex. Easy to install on the wall. Love the easy install and removable stand. - Easy to setup - was up and running in minutes. Very speedy operating system - Honestly, intrusive AI. Every setting is AI-this, AI-that. To be fair, it's seamless once running, but also takes away feeling of control. - The built-in app store and apps are OK, but for streaming I recommend just adding a Roku, FireTV, or Shield. I ran into a compatibility issue with the Plex app streaming 4K movies, which I did not have when running on a FireTV - Love the minimalist remote - The connectivity is absolutely superior - all the ports one could need and I could cast from my iphone seamlessly - Really good onboard wifi - Finally - picture quality. It's amazing, even though this is not the highest tier. I don't know how it could be better, honestly. Blacks are black, colors and flesh tones are excellent. Very configurable (particularly once AI features are disabled, though I have to be honest, they were often better than my manual calibrations). Very bright, and incredibly wide angle field of view. - Sound quality is also very good - I honestly debated whether to even add a speaker set to it - it certainly is very, very clear. Missing bass, but you'd need a sub for it. - Honestly, the home screen has too many options - streaming samsung TV, a ton of apps, etc. I do wish these TVs were a little less 'smart' - has more options for configuration than my top of the range 2022 Samsung LED tv. I've been watching all the dark horror movies that are OK on my LED TVs, and it makes such a difference. LOVE. ... show more

  • Premium picture quality and build quality
Size: 65 Inch
I’ve been using this Samsung 65-inch OLED (S85H series) mainly as a display, and overall it has been a really solid experience. I originally got the unit to do a review, so I went into it trying to notice the little things, not just the “wow” moments, and it still impressed me. First off, the picture quality is excellent. The image is very crisp and has that clean OLED look where scenes just pop without looking artificial. Dark scenes have great depth, highlights stand out, and there’s a lot of detail in faces and textures. With my Roku Ultra, it also seems to handle HDR really well. It looks like it supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content through the Roku, and the end result is a sharp, punchy picture that still looks natural. One thing I actually ended up appreciating more than I expected is how thin the panel is. It looks modern on the wall, and it gives the whole setup a higher-end feel. The thin profile makes it look “clean” from the side, especially if you’re wall-mounting and trying to keep things tidy. Sound-wise, I’m not using the built-in speakers much because I run everything through a Yamaha YSP-5600 sound projector. The TV has four HDMI ports, and HDMI port #3 is eARC. I connected the YSP-5600’s ARC/eARC connection to HDMI 3, and my Roku Ultra to HDMI 4. Once I set that up, everything just worked the way you want it to: I can control power and volume with the Roku remote, and it basically turns the whole system into a simple one-remote setup. For anyone who prefers external audio, that eARC port placement and compatibility alone is a big plus. Another nice surprise is that the TV works fine without internet. If you just want it to be a TV, you can absolutely do that. The only “gotcha” is the menu button and some of the on-screen navigation can feel a little misleading because it pushes you toward smart features and online setup prompts. The built-in interface does feel snappy at first, but in my experience most smart TV platforms tend to slow down over time, which is why I use the Roku Ultra and treat this as a TV, not a smart TV. With a dedicated streamer, you get consistent speed and updates without relying on the TV’s internal apps. Overall, I think it’s worth the money for the screen quality alone. Between the crisp OLED picture, the thin premium-looking panel, and how well it integrates with an external setup (Roku Ultra + Yamaha YSP-5600 over eARC), it checks the boxes that actually matter day to day. If you want a great-looking OLED and you’re fine using a streamer for the “smart” part, this one is an easy recommendation. ... show more

  • Excellent picture and very good sound
Size: 65 Inch
The S85H 2026 model is the "most basic" OLED TV from Samsung, with the S90H above it and the S95H on the top. Don't let this information affect your thinking as there is nothing basic about this TV. First the delivery was flawless, the team who delivered it were polite and careful with the product, thank you Amazon. The TV comes in a rather plain brown box and strapped. The weight is not an issue but the size makes it awkward if you try to handle the box by yourself. When the straps are off, you can slide up the box and the TV stays in place, the bottom of the box is not connected to the sides, smart for this size. The screen is very well protected with a film. I am amazed of the quality of the film used, small detail of course but who wants a brand new scratch TV. To put the feet together, it is just a question of snapping them in place (two options offered, feet close to each other or further to the edge depending of your likes or needs), no tools required. Basically this is all it takes for the physical install. Again, two people are required to safely move the TV to its final spot, be careful. The TV has a thin bezel around it which ensures the overall size of the TV is no more than it is required and is very thin of course. Overall for a 65" TV it does not take much more space than the older 55" that I am replacing. When the TV is plugged in the install is very simple with your phone and scanning QR codes. If you authorize Samsung to connect to a Samsung account the rest is rather simple if not you might not be able to enjoy Apps on the TV. The settings menu is easy to navigate and found easily with the help of the remote. Talking aboutcthexremote, small and adequate, charging with solar or a USB C cable (not included). You can use your phone if you set it up as a remote too. Plenty of connection ports available, 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, one HDMI eArc, 2 USB 2.0 type A, ethernet, optical, 1 for cable TV or antenna. Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6E. 4K OLED 120Hz variable refresh rate. There are some modes for gaming, I have not been into gaming for a while so this is all gibberish to me (reduced motion blur and low latency, motion aXcelerator) but there is no doubt that the TV will be able to handle most gamers unless you are very very serious about it. The Audio is good with Dolby Atmos delivering it, 360 audio sound and AI sound contoler: raise the sound a little and feel like you are in the middle of the action. There is also the active voice amplifier pro feature that identifies voices in the background and adjust the sound of the TV so you don't miss a bit. I feel that however with 20W and two channels it does lack a little compared to the next model up the S90H which offers a trully amazing sound, check that model too. The processor on the TV is the NQ4 AI gen2: 4K AI Upscaling and color accuracy and dynamic brightness and contrast. The picture is very good, I have been watching a bit of everything on it for the last few days and I am impressed. The level of details in the screen is impressive and no obvious blurring even in fast moving action. I don't watch sport so I can't speak for that. The TV has anti reflection so it helps in bright sunny rooms and again AI 4K upscaling. I connected the TV to my receiver via Bluetooth and no issues what so ever, this is a temporary solution until I get the proper cable. Wifi connection took no time at all and the TV stays connected with no issue. I nearly forgot, the TV runs One UI Tizen and Samsung promises 7 years of updates. I think this is more than enough considering how fast technology evolves. Overall a very solid offering from a well known established brand. The price will be higher than many TV sold in retail places but you get what you pay for and I strongly believe the value is there. ... show more

  • Absolutely amazing picture and excellent sound
Size: 65 Inch
I got this TV to replace a 20-year old 46-inch LCD and I am blown away by how good this is. The set itself is 57" x 32.7", which is only about an inch larger in each dimension than the 46-inch TV was with the wide bezel and trim. It's also MUCH lighter. This TV only weighs about 40 pounds compared with the 90 pound LCD. What still amazes me is how thin this TV is. It's only about 1/4" thick, except for the area in the back with all the connection points that house the electronics and mounting plate. The quality of the picture and display blows me away. I'd been pretty happy with my old HD LCD, but the picture on the 4K OLED display is infinitely better. Blacks are truly black and the colors are so vivid. The sound from the TV alone is excellent, not quite as good as with a soundbar or surround sound, but pretty darn close. Packaging of of the TV is great. Cut off the retaining straps, lift the top off the box and the TV stands in bottom packaging. There are two feet included if you want to stand the TV on a console or other furniture and they can be positioned closer together or further apart. Having a large, energetic and rambunctious dog, I opted to wall mount the TV to keep it safe. Once it's powered up, setup is a breeze and the TV walks you through the whole thing. There is no manual included, but the entire quide is available for viewing on the TV. Pretty much any streaming app that you need is either preinstalled or can be downloaded to the TV, although I'm using a Firestick 4K Max just so I can have the same menus and a consistent experience across all the televisions in the house. Connectivity is not a problem, with 4 HDMI, 2 USB, Coax, Ethernet, Fiber, Composite and component ports. The remote is another joy to use. It has a microphone for voice control of the TV and use with a voice assistant (Bixby or Alexa). It has a built-in battery that can be charged by USB and it also has a solar sell to that exposure to light will keep it charged. You can also set your phone to be used as a remote control. I'd been watching less and less TV over the past few years, but that's changed in the past week since getting this set. I LOVE watching movies and documentaries on this set. TV is truly entertaining again. ... show more

  • Great Smart TV. Samsung make good quality products, and this is a winner.
Size: 65 Inch
This is an awesome smart television! I wasn't planning to purchase a tv of this magnitude. However, being an Amazon Vine member, it became available and I couldn't let it pass. Keep in mind, Samsung nor Amazon pays for these reviews. Amazon wants you to provide honest opinions. The TV Is not very heavy however it is large. That being said, two average people should be able to get it mounted either with the included base mount or opt for a nice wall mount which I chose. The setup was fairly straightforward with the use of the included remote control unit, which can be charged via USB C port. However, it has a built in solar panel on the back. No more batteries! Set it in a light source and it charges itself. I recommend you give yourself an hour or so of uninterrupted time to get familiar with the menu system. Now to take advantage of all the pre installed Samsung apps, you need to sign up with a Free Samsung account. Not a big deal. No credit card or payment required for the base subscription and very easy registration. Once you do that, you get a ton of free content with ads as well as live TV. Other paid subscription apps like Netflix, Prime and others are also pre installed. The sound quality is acceptable. However, if you're going to have a nice large TV of this size, you will most likely want to setup a modest home theater with surround sound for the best viewing experience. As far as the operation of this unit, it is nice and snappy with no lag whatsoever, and the menu system is easy to navigate. Once I viewed my first HD movie, I was blown away on how bright and defined this thing was. I could literally see nose hairs on people like they were in the room. Perhaps even better than in person due proper lighting and some close up shots. There is no hesitation or stuttering of the picture during any motion scenario, even connected wirelessly with a good wireless signal. It definitely will not disappoint. ... show more
