I had Sony 900F for about 5 years now so wanted to upgrade was going back and forth with 95b oled and this one. I mainly going to use this tv for games and PC monitor. Though I know OLED is overall better picture, having that small chance of burn in why I chose qn90B "50", it didn't disappoint. The picture is outstanding very crystal clear, the colors pop perfectly. Huge upgrade from my old tv. Being able to play games now due to HDMI 2.1 at 1440p n VRR 120hz so freaking nice. Playing games on my PS5 HZFW, HPL, GoW, Dead Island 2, many other games who allow 1440P VRR+HDR such a better gaming experience. No screen tearing, no stutter, constant frames with no drops even getting 120fps steady on some. Holding down the play/pause button on the controller brings up gaming mode settings which is nice cause gives you fps detector, vrr on/off HDR, and basic settings if you need be. Truly magnificent tv for gaming. Only negative is wish the sharpness was little better when gaming even at max still too soft. I do wish it was easier to switch inputs manually. You have to go to the home screen than select the input, instead of having a button on the controller to select the input. Negative about this tv atleast to me it's nip picky but I wish the inputs were on the left side, not right side just feels odd to me. Also wish having atleast some inputs down the side not all on the back. The sound is okay, Dolby Atmos with amplify on not very loud to me. I have to turn it to almost 20, to hear anything. Where my old tv could have at 2 still hear something. Overall for tv If your going to use it to play games it's definitely worth the purchase. ... show more

    • DEFECTIVE UNIT - Out of the box

Purchased this unit for master bedroom to replace my Samsung that I have had for nearly ten years. The unit flickered immediately when plugged in. Having checked connections, I went through set up inspite of flickering in the hopes that it would self correct. I checked connection in back and wall. Plugged in the unit that was being replaced and it functioned fine. I reached out to Samsung support who went through a few iterations of troubleshooting with me over the phone. Samsung said the unit is defective. No they do not provide physical support or replacement when purchased through Amazon. Amazon does not replace only refund I was told when calling customer service. I asked how long does it take to get a refund. I was quoted four to six weeks from time of receipt of unit. This is all that they can do. When I receive a refund I could purchase another, I was told. The only thing that could be done is for them to issue a pick up through UPS. (The item is to be boxed and on the porch) No time frame was provided as to when UPS would arrive, no email or text. Adrian the Amazon supervisor said within two days. (The person before said the next day) Supervisor Adrian, whom I asked to speak to find out if I could use the refund toward a replacement when unit is received by Amazon rather than waiting for refund. Adrian said, have you ever returned anything to Amazon yes or no... (Yes I had), this is how it works he said. All I can do is process a pick up. With that our conversation ended. My take away is not to purchase electronics through Amazon - they are not responsible for the product and you lose the ability to have the manufacturer intercede on your behalf... Plus you are out the funds which hypothetically could be earning interest. Maybe Adrian is wrong and my credit will come in sooner. Then off to Costco, where they work with manufacturers to ensure your product is what you paid for and even will provide concierge service to support product problems. . ... show more

About me and Samsung: So I am a huge Samsung fan boy. I have several of Samsungs "premium" products like the Galaxy Tab S8+, the Galaxy Watch 5 pro, the pro 2 earbuds and The Galaxy S21+ phone (time for upgrade). I have had many generations of their products as well as some bad experience with a few of their budget lines. So my point is, I'm familiar with Samsung and their quality. My experience: So during prime day I started looking for a gaming TV for my PC. I actually wanted the LG C2 TV but they sold out before I got on. Then I stumbled on a good deal for the Samsung QN90B. I started doing some research and while it's not OLED which I really had my heart set on, it was supposed to be close. I figured I would give it a shot because it's a gaming TV and it fits into my Samsung echo system. Now I have very mixed feelings. About the TV: The display is pretty great with a few drawbacks but the user interface is really bad. The good: It works well with my other Samsung devices. I can just tap the side of the display with my phone and it begins mirroring the phone. Did not see that feature listed, so bonus. The blacks are the blackest I have ever seen on LED by far! In a pitch black room the blacks are invisible just like an oled. The colors are truly beautiful once you get it calibrated they way you like. With the exception of the blacks this display is bright, and I mean really bright. You could watch this thing outside on a bright sunny day! It has a lot of gaming options if you can figure out how to navigate the system and the Gaming sync options work well. The Bad: I want to love this TV but... I only got the 43" model and didn't realize until after I got it that the 43" and 50" are missing a couple of the main selling features. These smaller models do not have the anti glare layer at all and the "wide viewing angle is actually the worst viewing angle I have ever seen. I see the colorful image only when sitting at a perfect 90 degrees frime the display. 10% in ether direction and it begins washing out. Even though the blacks are true black the backlight is so bright (even turned all the way down) that you get blooming around the whites. The UI is so bad that if I end up keeping this TV I am going to get Nvidia shield or something like that to run. I have had a couple instances when adjusting settings where the screen split vertical and one side looked dull while the other was vibrant. I had to turn the TV off and on again to fix. Not sure if it's defective or if it's trying to show me an example of the change and I just can't figure out how to exit. I have also had the TV shift out of game mode while playing games a couple times. Again I'm not sure if it's defective or if I had it set up wrong or it could even be the $10 Chinese HDMI 2.1 cord I'm using. Concussion: I love this display and I love how well it integrates into my Samsung echo system. The viewing angle is not a deal breaker for me because I sit in front anyway. I've seen far worse blooming so I can live with that. However I'm putting it through its paces while within the return window. If some of the issues I'm having with the UI turn out to be defects it's going back! Would I recommend it, yes but I would stay with the larger models because I feel like some shortcuts were made on the small ones. You may also want to invest in a Nvidia shield or even a high end Roku to avoid the headache of the UI, but the display has a quite amazing picture quality for LED. ... show more
