    • Terrible Design, Nice Looking
First, I love most Samsung products. It was a quick decision to buy this refrigerator. The unit was beautiful and everything worked great for the first year and a half....then the trouble started. The first thing to start was a persistent and noticeable humming/high speed ‘clicking’. This occurred off and on for a while (month or two) then refrigerator started smelling bad and food spoiling due to unit not cooling properly. Repair man came out and said the unit had frozen/wasn’t able to drain appropriately, thus the ice build up and noise (cooling fan blades hitting the ice), repair man had us completely thaw the unit (24 hrs with power off....has to relocate all food items) and he simply increased the drain hoses to allow proper drainage....he told us this would help, but not fix the issue, this problem would come back, and I would have to thaw the unit to correct issue. I have had to do this 4 times in the last 3 years. Next is The horribly designed ice machine. Again, a year into ownership, we notice the ice machine not producing an adequate amount of ice cubes. This was due to the ice machine interior walls continually freezing and blocking the normal ice cube flow. I now have to manually defrost the ice machine at least twice a month to maintain a minimal amount of ice cubes....we can never depend on it dispensing ice as it should. Also, ice gets trapped in the dispenser so water leaks into the door trays....I’ve had to put rag in the door shelf to soak up the ice melt. I change the rag out about every two weeks. This unit under performs on a regular basis and has been nothing but trouble for us....what a let down from a company that does have great products. Samsung really needs to rethink the design and function of their refrigerators. Would not recommend this product or any of their other refrigerators to anyone. We are now replacing the unit with another refrigerator...goodbye Samsung Refrigerator, never again! ... show more
