I'm hard of hearing without hearing aids at night so I searched for a blue tooth speaker that enhanced speech. I bought another sound bar to use remotely behind my bed so I could hear at night without turning it up so high but it would never sync the speech with the video so after fiddling and talking to the seller for over a week, they finally said I needed not to use the blue tooth so I gave up, sent it back and looked for a another one. I found this Sayin model and boom...instantly it synced TV speech with the video in blue tooth mode. Continues to clear up speech for me and stay in sync. Well I did make the mistake of not reading a caption clearly I always expected it to have HDMI but it doesn't so I had to hook it up with Bluetooth to my TV (actually my fire stick on my TV) hooked up fast and sound is very good can't go real loud but the bass and treble compliment each other , can't go wrong ... show more

I bought this for price only, so I wasn't expecting much from a sound quality standpoint. Speaker showed up with a crushed dome cap on the right side, so I wasn't pleased the second I opened the box. Luckily dust caps do not affect sound out. Sound from TV was distorted so I needed something at a low price rather than buying a new TV. Optic connection was only slightly better than TV sound itself, so I had to use the bluetooth option. ... show more

This was an amazing purchase. The sound quality is top notch. I bought it because the sound on my tv wasn’t working well and honestly I’d consider buying it for all the tvs in my house because of what a difference it makes. I love that it has a remote control adds a whole world of convenience.

First thing - the optical cables have little plastic tips on them - you must remove them before trying to connect them to devices. It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that - after a Google search. The sound is acceptable for the price point. The three sound settings are not near as good as having an adjustable equalizer, but they do help a bit depending on what sound you want. The subwoofer makes some odd humming/scratchy noises when the system's volume is low. I was able to hook up an older - and more powerful - JVC subwoofer instead of this one - much better. I mostly use this soundbar for streaming music through bluetooth, and the sound does get loud enough to fill my first floor - but don't expect Bose quality or clarity by any means. The main reason I chose this was because the height is what I was looking for. I'm using this low profile soundbar in front of/under a 55" tv, and it does deliver better and louder sound than the TV speakers. UPDATE 10/21 My 25 year old JVC subwoofer died. I hooked up the small subwoofer again, and the sound was still off at low volumes. Upon raising the volume even a little, the amount of distortion coming from the subwoofer was ridiculous. Next I tried using the soundbar only....but without a subwoofer of any sort, the tone was terrible, tinny, and decidedly not loud. I compared the sound of my TV speakers against the soundbar sans subwoofer - not even close - the TV speakers were louder and more dynamic. I cannot recommend that anyone buys this soundbar. ... show more
