If rugs could talk, this one would have an accent, a passport full of stamps, and a thousand tales to tell. I had to lay it out in the sun for the afternoon to off-gas. Odor is basically gone now. It’s a plush, soft rug. It’s a “monet”. From a distance it’s beautiful! Absolutely love this runner!!! Can’t say enough. The only thing that would make truly perfect is if it had a non slip backing. The rug is very soft with a nice medium pile and seems very durable.. Love the varying sizes. My home is 128 years old and the halls are narrow with jetting abutments so this size was perfect and it came in 20 to 24, if you’re thinking about this rug , think no more. Order it.!!!! I purchased the 20 foot long rug. It came rolled up in thick plastic and well protected. When I first unrolled it, the ends were very creased. However, I just took several books and put 5 pound weights on the books and left it for a couple hours and it flattened out beautifully ….so no problems there, so if you decide to get one, don’t panic if the edges are raised, they will come to rest perfectly flat. ... show more

Sorry for the bad picture quality, and for my boyfriend's thousand yard stare. He just looks like that. I was hopeful about this rug based on Safavieh's reputation, and somehow it still exceeded my expectations. It arrived very quickly, and rolled up (not folded as I've heard happens sometimes). I rolled it out last night and with the exception of the last couple inches along the edge, it immediately lays flat. Mild "new rug" smell but nothing too strong or chemical. It's very soft, thick, and plush. I admit I didn't actually measure the room before ordering the 6'7"x9 (because who has time for that kind of basic and commonsense pre-planning), so this thing was way bigger than I pictured, but I'm not bothered at all. If you, unlike me, are not an impulsive rug-buyer and actually do your homework (or have a basic ability to imagine scales of objects) then it won't be a surprise to you. The thing I was most worried about was the look of it--I doubted that one of these plush "faux oriental" rugs with faux distressing/antiquing was really a suitable alternative to the real thing. But it is! You really don't notice that it's not a "real" oriental rug until you're on top of it, and by that point the softness has won you over enough that you don't care. And the pattern is lovely! Looks just like the picture in my estimation, no brighter or duller. No comment on durability yet, so I'll update if it starts falling apart, but I agree with other reviewers that it certainly feels high quality. I feel sort of silly for ever thinking that a 50% off rug from World Market was ever a good deal. THIS is a deal. ... show more

This is a seriously beautiful rug, and 100% worth the price. I never write reviews, but buying a rug online can be so difficult, and this one really deserves a good review! We have had the rug for almost 6 months now and we have a very crazy dog who does zoomies all over it, and it still looks brand new- not a fiber out of place! The colors are beautiful and really warm up our space, not overly bright and quite true to the listing photos. You can obviously tell that it isn't a really fancy oriental rug and initially I wasn't sure if I loved how the strings come up as individual colors instead of more seamlessly dyed ones (see second photo and ignore the dog hair, our vacuum is broken at the moment), but now I just love it and with the room all together I don't see those tiny details.
