Tbh, I bought this rug for my cats. Its made of durable sisal and this would be one scratch mat they could NOT destroy. But.....gosh.....its so pretty and soft and well-made!!!! I dont want them to scratch it up but that's what I bought it for, so its all theirs hahaha The part about the being rolled up for shipping and then giving it time to flatten itself out but it still refuses to flatten on its own? Yeah I tried the included instructions that for 3 days. Didn't work. So, then, I reverse rolled it up and wedged it in something and 24 hours later......NO end-zone bump!! Love the rug! High quality material and soft under foot. The color is a light creamy/yellow straw. The only downside is the discoloration that was present. I’ll try replacing the item.

The rug is basically exactly as described and I had no issues with odor. It seems sturdy and I like that it has a no-slip backing that feels pretty stable. My only disappointment is the color. While it is technically “cream,” it looks more like a pale yellow, almost like it was tinted “cream.” The colors in the pics and my experience with sisal/natural fiber rugs led me to assume the color cream wouldn’t be so vibrant, but it is. I am keeping it only because the hassle to try and prepare this rug for return feels overwhelming. I wish now I had purchased the “marble” color, which sounds like a more natural tone. ... show more

Update 02/2025 I have taken this down to one star. It's been less than three years since purchase and the FIBER SHEDDING IS CONSTANT AND COPIOUS! It's in the living room of a decent-sized one-bedroom apartment, and I swear there is not one inch of my home that hasn't gotten fiber from this rug on it. It makes tumbleweeds in every corner and crevice, it lands on my bedside table, it's in the kitchen, and I'm afraid I've probably been inhaling and or eating smaller bits and so has my cat. I hate this rug. I'd also note that my purchase total was about 30% higher than the current listing. Money down the drain; but I would (and may have to) pay someone to get this hairy beast out of my life (at which point I will have to deep clean every square inch of my home to reset it from this disaster of a purchase. DON'T DO IT. Update 10/2023: the fibers shed and get EVERYWHERE. Not sure I would purchase again; makes a mess throughout the rest of the house. Maybe fine if you are an everyday cleaning kinda person, but…otherwise expect fiber bunnies all over the place. I get this rug to spruce up my living room. It did the trick, looks nice, covered up my worn wood floors. Love that it has a backing and doesn’t shift/move. Lays flat. I would not recommend for small children, as I’ve gotten an occasional splinter on my foot (not frequent, but it happened once and I wouldn’t let a baby or toddler on it). Also if you have pets, be prepared to spend extra time cleaning up any related messes. I have a cat who, like most cats, rushes to a carpeted surface whenever she hurls, and while you CAN get it out, it takes extra time, effort, and a soft scrub brush to do the trick (and I recommend Bissell pro spray cleaner - that stuff is magic). I mostly vacuum with a dyson - suction only - it does take a while to actually look dirty (bonus!). Also watch out for wild variations in pricing. ... show more
