This is day one of delivery. Upon unwrapping, there is no strange or pungent odor. Unlike the rug pad, which smelled awful, was purchased in advance, and stretched out to settle over my laminate flooring. I back-rolled the rug at the opposite edges after rolling it out flat. It came rolled, not folded. Surprisingly, it only had a few rises in the center that will have to settle. The rug is sturdy and well-made, not flimsy at all. It began settling beautifully within just an hour of unrolling it. I’ve decided to let it lie flat for a couple of days before placing furniture on top to ensure it fully acclimates to the room's climate. The dumbbells on each corner will keep it stretched flat and in place. I would recommend these rugs. Only time will tell how it stands up, but this will be under the formal dining room table, so there will be little traffic other than holiday dinners or special occasions. This was on the money. I am incredibly impressed with the rich colors of this rug. They coordinate perfectly with a much more expensive wool runner I have in the same space, and the patterns complement each other beautifully. An excellent value that looks high-end! I researched the manufacturer, and these rugs are exceptionally well-made. I’m very impressed by their wide range of styles, colors, and textures. Amazon offers a great selection of these area rugs in a variety of sizes, patterns, and styles to fit any space. Review: This rug is a fantastic choice for the price. While there are certainly more expensive, high-end options available with Safavieh, this one perfectly serves my needs. I plan to follow the manufacturer's maintenance and cleaning suggestions, and I expect it will provide several years of great use.

Just unwrapped it in these photos, so it's not laying flat, yet, but it makes for a very pretty statement piece in a room. I could have ordered a larger size, but it had already shipped by the time of my realization, and I didn't want to cause Amazon or the seller any trouble. I'm fine with even this small fit because of the rug's quality colors and materials. It has a pleasant "new carpet" scent upon unwrapping that I'm sure will fade within a week, as well. I've already purchased Milan shag rugs from this brand before, and this point, I will be trusting Safavieh with any of my floor and rug purchases. I hope you too find something that meets your needs from this company.

Bought the rug because we wanted traditional colors and style, with a decent pile. What arrived was precisely what we wanted. The colors are bright the cream is cream and not beige, the burgundy is burgundy and not red. The burgundy border with the cream center design makes an already large room look even bigger. The material is good and sturdy, will easily last years before it begins to fall apart. Laying flat: it comes rolled up tightly boung and then pressure wrapped, getting it to lay flat requires stretching carpet and placing books or other heavy flat items on it to get it to stay. Then vacuuming the rug a few times to allow areas that bulge to lay completely flat. This is normal. In our case carpet lays atop uneven Mexican tile (uneven on purpose). The style is traditional, not Persian or Oriental but it has plenty of movement in organic design of flower / leaf pattern. The pile is a decent thickness. Soft to the foot. We have high end wool rugs which were woven by hand and these which are machine woven, on the whole I found this to be a decently priced alternative for rooms with more traffic and overall use. It's a beautiful piece with good quality control. No smudges etc. I would recommend. Easy to get compliments as the rug is handsome without going overboard. UPS delivers which means they'll throw it on your doorstep but it comes securely wrapped and sealed. I would recommend laying flat, weighing down corners and center and letting it breath and stretch out between 24-48 hours before vacuuming. Overall purchase: Happy. Would recommend.

I bought a 6x9 and 3x5 Red/Black for my basement family room. They are decent rugs, for the price. The thickness is nice, they feel good to walk on and they laid flat after only a few days and some vacuuming. I did have to put two-sided tape on the corners, which was no big deal. However, they are both smaller than the description size and the color is not consistent throughout the rug. Some areas of red are darker, some are lighter. There was a very slight "new rug smell" which only lasted a day or so. Overall, for my needs, the rugs looks very nice. I would be hesitant to use them in a brightly lit area where the color variation would be more noticeable or if I needed the sizes to be a described.

Beautiful rug. I was leery of buying sight unseen, but I'm so glad I did. We couldn't even find a 9' x 12' area rug locally, so to find such a lovely rug, and have it home delivered for less than we'd have paid for an 8 x 10' locally (and wrestled it home in our small car) was a super deal for us! PROS: * Size is huge. Much bigger than we could find locally. * Colors are even nicer in person. The edges are a lovely creamy, camel tan-ish color, and the reds are a lovely dark maroon. No fire engine red in mine. It really pops against our dark wood floors. Just gorgeous! * New car smell was minimal, expected, and dissipated within 48 hours - also as expected. * It came rolled, so we rolled it backwards first, then laid it out. It remained somewhat curled for 24-48 hours, then laid flat. * Feel to the touch is nice. Not the best I've ever felt, but I have no complaints. It feels good to walk on, and to wrestle with the kids on. * No shedding that I've seen, yet. Been here for about 2 weeks, vacuumed twice, and kids and dogs love it. * Edges were cut straight, fully finished, and corners are at right angles. All perfect to my eye. * Plush/thickness. I have a deep pile, very plush rug from long ago. It's not quite that thick, but it's pretty good. * Pattern is pretty, lines are somewhat "pixelated" - as 1 reviewer noted, but no more than any other rug I've ever seen. It's not a TV, it's a rug. * Despite the plushness, it does not leave vacuum cleaner lines. I hate that, and this does not show it, so I LOVE that! CONS: * It does feel nice on the foot, but our home is on a cement slab, so the floors are murder on your feet, without padding. We did purchase a Felt pad to go under it. That helps with skidding, and protects the floor from the scratchy, rug backing. Worth the investment for comfort, and to protect our wood floors. Seriously, if it weren't so expensive, I'd order more of the smaller sized rugs. I really love this, and even my hubby, who rarely cares about such things, has commented repeatedly how much it makes the room look so much nicer. He loves it, too. : ) I included a shot so you can see ours. Our floors are super dark wood, and the dogs are actually pretty much pure white, so you can tell the colors. I find the real photos of real homes to be much better to gauge how it will look, than the seller's pics. Thanks to others for posting theirs. It helped me decide, so here's mine:

Safavieh has the best rugs for reasonable price. I have been buying Safavieh rugs and runners since circa 2013. This time I received the wrong color runner, Ivory & Red instead of Ivory & Rust. (In truth it could be a mistake by person who took it off the shelf, or they couldn't read or see well.) I returned it promptly. However, there was so much confusion between emails back and forth, I just gave up! Not worth my time. It's a very good product but they need to cordinate their commo with Amazon and/or other sellers offering the same product.
