I purchased two runners and am very pleased with them. I have another rug from Safavieh's Antiquity Collection in a different pattern so I had a pretty good idea what these would be like but until you see the colors in person you never know. The peacock blue is a blue green, sort of light teal, and looks good against the cream background. Yes, the rug sheds. I had to vacuum my other Safavieh wool rug several times a week for quite a while but eventually the shedding stopped. I'd much rather vacuum a shedding wool rug than have plastic microfibers floating in my house. ... show more

I was instantly in love with this rug. I owned a wool rug before in its place for 20 years and it was still in amazing condition, but I just wanted to get a brighter color with our remodel. Wool rugs should last forever if you provide proper care. That said, this new one is falling apart and I've only owned for about two weeks! WARNING: If you own cat(s), **don't buy.** Unlike my 20-year-rug we got when we first got married and my cats could scratch/fluff constantly without *any fibers coming apart, this one does and I can't imagine what this will look like in a year if I'm already getting several spots like this. This isn't the normal fluff coming off a wool rug. This is literally THREADS coming OUT of the rug, which starts more unraveling next to it. I will try to cut it close but I am so worried about it. This was a very expensive mistake for me. I am so bummed that it hasn't even lasted a month yet. Very disappointed in the quality, if you have animals, I would not recommend this at all - it just doesn't take any kind of wear. Guess I keep my old rug around when this one will certainly fail. So glad I ordered this rug! There is no obvious shedding. The only thing off is that the red (garnet?) color is a bit more pronounced than shown in the pic. A very good value

Beautiful rug I can’t deny, but I am throwing in the towel after less than three years and throwing it away. This rug sheds way way WAY to much! Sometimes I wondered if it was made with old materials? I love a wool rug but am a little worried about buying wool ever again after this.
