The SAFAVIEH Amsterdam 108 collection lays a tribal motif across a low, tight weave in ivory & multi, a vintage-bohemian surface worn back so the pattern reads as found rather than new. Each rug is power-loomed from polypropylene at 1/4", flat enough to clear a door and to sit under a dining chair. We just replaced our ancient carpet with wood flooring and I needed an area rug to pull it all together. I knew a traditional pattern wouldn't fit with my aesthetic, but I also didn't want something super modern looking. This one seemed perfect, multiple colors like I wanted, a pattern that was a little bit boho but not too wild. Finally got to unroll it this week and I love it. Initially I was slightly disappointed that the background was a little more taupe than expected and the greens and blues different than they appeared on my computer, but they quickly grew on me and still work to pull everything together. (Honestly, I was going to repaint my walls, but the burgundy color in the rug pulled them into my whole color scheme and now I'm not sure.) I weighted down the edges and corners for about 24 hours and that has them just about flattened out. In a smaller size this rug might slip and need something underneath, but as it is it seems to stay in place well. It's soft, not super thick, just about right. I might decide on a rug pad at a later date. My only 'con' is that it is slippery. Because this is my exercise space in the morning I am often doing lunges, etc on the carpet and I find my feet sliding a bit. So just be aware that if this is going in a space where you exercise you may want an exercise mat for grip. I would absolutely purchase this again, though. (And at the price point, if I get tired of it in a few years I wouldn't feel guilty about replacing it.)

I must admit “inexpensive” was high among my criteria when looking for an entry rug. Size (3’x5’), was most important, and, for me, “colorful” is always a consideration. Though I didn’t have a brand in mind, Safavieh branded items usually work out well for me (you’re welcome, Safavieh), so that helped me pick this rug too. Upon receiving it, I was initially very disappointed about how thin and sparse it is, but otherwise it is what I was thinking of when I was browsing. I chose the black one. It feels silky-soft— not cushiony-soft, but most importantly, it’s quite bright and colorful! I normally enter the house via the garage so I don’t actually use it often myself. (The cat does though!) But I do see it everyday from across the room, so its lack of plushness isn’t such an issue, whereas its colorfulness and pattern are what makes it nice. Since I merely wanted something that guests would feel comfortable wiping their feet on if they felt so inclined when they stepped inside my front door, I probably should have considered “easy to clean” rather than “inexpensive”, but unfortunately, I’m part of our “throw-away” culture. Having lived with it for a for a few days now, I’ve decided to add more stars. Originally I only gave it 3 because its thinness was so disappointing. (I wanted to only do 2, but my cat loved it.)

I got the ivory/multi 8x10 for my bedroom. I really like it. It isn’t my regular style. But the majority tan with a lot of different colors makes it go with a lot of other smaller rugs and with my other furnishings. If this was in an open area like a living room it might be a bit much. But with a bed covering a lot of it the bits that peak out and at the foot of the bed are pleasant. I have bought this brand before and it is a good rug. Not super thin and flimsy like some. It vacuums well. Writing the review now because I am now ordering a pad for underneath. The fabric feels ok on my bare feet but it is not cushy.

It’s relatively soft, not too thin, and I do love the colors and design. Used under a couple of heavy kitchen barstools so I’m not sure about slippage. Good buy for the money.

First of all it is really hard to find a square shaped carpet so I was happy when I found this one. It arrived sooner than expected. It came just wrapped in clear plastic. After I rolled out the carpet, I rolled it up backwards and left it that way for 30 min. I find doing this helps the carpet to lay flat better. Two of the corners didn’t lay completely flat so I put a couple of free weights on those corners. Within a few hours I was able to remove them. The carpet had a hint of odor to it when it was rolled out but that went away quickly. The carpet has a little bit of pile to it so it isn’t completely flat. It feels soft to walk on barefoot. There’s a nice binding around the edge. Overall, it’s very well made for the price. It’s mostly neutral with a nice pop of color so it would go easily with almost any decor. I have an 8 year-old boy and the rug cleans easily. I’m very happy with this rug and would highly recommend it.

Happy with overall look. But be advised, the pattern size and colors differ on the 2 sizes of carpet. I got the small one first about 4 weeks ago to see if I liked it. Colors, pattern and background shade look nice with new LVP in dining nook. So I ordered the larger 8 x 8 for under the table (actually 92.5 in x 94.5 in - not 8ft square) and planned to use the smaller one at sliding door entry. As you can see, the 2 rugs are different. The background & depth of colors is darker on small one as well as a smaller pattern size. Still happy with purchase. I will use smaller one elsewhere and get a solid for door entry here. Price point very good, wanted something that could stand up to heavy foot traffic at this door - which gets a lot of traffic. Will see how this goes over time. Received rug less than 24 hours ago, arrived 2 days early. It’s is winter & house closed up, but I did not notice any odor at all. Rolled it out and weighted the curly sides. It has settled down and may be able to place pad under at and get table & chairs in place within next 24 hours.

Very beautiful rug! Took about a week for it to finally lay out flat/settle but it’s very easy to vacuum with a cordless Dyson and thick. I hate the cheap looking rugs that are velvet top/you can see the lines in it. This was a great buy for the size and quality. Not too thick and not too thin. Everyone compliments it when they walk in. I got one for both my bedroom and living room bc I couldn’t choose just one color option😂

This rug is beautiful, soft and is exactly what I have been looking for, BUT it came folded up and I have spent days rolling and unrolling, putting heavy things on it, steaming it, you name it. The humps where it was folded will not come out. I have moved my furniture on and off it several times because it’s driving me nuts and we tried so hard to fix it. Why can’t they send a rolled up on that was never folded? I hurt my back trying to fix this- it’s exactly the colors I need, but this is going to drive me nuts - in person it is terrible
