  • Well worth the money
Color: White
I'd been looking at other subs but size constraints led me to the s810 and I am glad they did. It tucks away behind a chair nicely and the bass is enough to rattle my walls yet I can't tell where the bass is coming from. Easy to setup, nice looking, and a great value.

  • Not enough oomph
Color: Black
I wanted to like it after all the good reviews, but it just didn't have enough oomph. The main reason might be that our living room is too big for this small subwoofer. So not Jamo's fault. I got another one 3 times the size (and price) and that one does boom!

  • Fairly priced. Not the best, but the “bests” out there are just too expensive. It’s good enough.
Color: Black
It’s a very good subwoofer. PROVIDED, that you take the time to properly calibrate it. I suppose that is true for pretty much any sub, but this is especially true for the Jamo S810. At regular 12 hour position for volume and crossover it’s simply too loud, and it does get a bit distorted. But you can and should play with the dials, carefully listening to make sure the sound coming out is nice (best) for YOUR ears (each person will have a personal preference). Price-wise, I find it’s relative to each person. A rich guy will find it ridiculously cheap. A regular person may find it to be properly priced at around US$200. I feel the sweet spot would have been $150. It’s a tad overpriced for what you get. I’ve definitely heard better subwoofers... But at a much steeper price. I love the design and build quality. It’s superb. With the exception that the controls are at the BOTTOM of the unit. It’s a pain when, if you play something that differs too much from the regular content you usually listen to, you may want to adjust those controls. But since they are inaccessible, at the unit’s bottom, your only recourse is to pick the entire unit up, flip it 180 degrees, adjust the dials, then repeat the process backwards to properly sit the unit back to its intended position. I do understand that placing the wire connectors at the bottom is a good idea to make them less obtrusive, but the controls definitely do not belong there. I’m fairly satisfied with my purchase (after I fine tuned it). I recommend it for those wanting not to spend too much money and still get a fairly good subwoofer. Be well, R. UPDATE: After a few days living with this subwoofer, properly tuned, I can say it is the highlight of the 5.1 Jamo speaker system I bought. Very nice subwoofer, despite the details I already mentioned in my original review. Bottom line: Go for it! Just don't expect more than what you are paying for. ... show more

  • Small package big sound.
Color: Black
Jamo Studio Series S 810 Sub woofer was purchased to replace a Polk Audio PSW10 because it can fit into a smaller space. Overall I'm pretty happy with the sound. I don't crank my system and play loudly as I listen mostly to jazz but there are those occasions where I need just a little more bottom to fill out the sound a little. These are not being used to watch movies; music only. They work wonderfully for that and can get quite loud if you prefer things that way. The build quality is very nice with the exception of the mounting pins for the speaker grill, if you're not careful when removing the grill you can easily break them off. There are other comments here about the location of the controls are in an inconvenient location at the bottom of the unit. Not sure where those folks expected it to be at if you are purchasing a unit whose design is intended to allow it to fit in spaces where other traditional cube shaped subs cannot fit. You have basically 4 directions you can place or direct this sub, one side of which is the speaker grill, which would be limited to 3 if the controls where on one of the sides. My only issue and it is a small issue is that the included audio cable is a bit flimsy but I'll pick up a better quality right angled one or adapter when I get around to it. Everything works well and it does not detract from the sound of my main speakers and it looks great in the corner where I placed it. Compared to the previous Polk Audio PSW10, this sub sounds better with a tighter less boomy response. By the way, it is made by Klipsch. ... show more

  • Big Value Bass in a Slim Package
Color: Walnut
Fitting a large sub in my small living room would not be possible, until this bangin little box from Jamo. It's tall yet shallow, so you can have a 10" sub slim against the wall or under a table. Connected to support my Klipsch The Fives, it sounds quite good, although you do give up some frequency response down low in exchange for that slim form factor. The connections and dials are on the bottom, which lets you place it tight against the wall, but the poor access can be annoying while you're still getting it dialed in. I was worried about damaging the veneer having to flip on its side repeatedly. I used some of the packaging foam to keep it off the floor temporarily. All said, a sweet little sub, and amazing value for the price (I got mine about $170). If you are pairing with The Fives, note that although they are both available in "Walnut" finish, the Jamo is significantly darker in both the veneer and the grille. 10/10 Would blast again. ... show more

  • Odd controls placement
Color: White
I just don't agree with the placement of controls on the bottom of this sub. Input and power sure, but not the gain or frequency adjust....even if you don't plan on adjusting that much. You gotta lift up the sub and flip it over to adjust levels and such. As long as your receiver/pre has ample controls, it should be ok. Sounds fine though. You'll get your boom with this ported sub for sure. Prob not the tightest or cleanest sounding sub but it's more than fine for the masses....way more than fine. ... show more

  • Value for money!
Color: Black
First of all let me say this is not the tightest bass that I have heard but I wanted El Cheapo twin subs so I got these. I paid 125 for each of them and you wait they go for 110 also! I crossed them at 120hz and experimented with phase switch, volume is at about 7:30. The value for your money is quite good and I'm very happy with this purchase. I will update the review as time passes. Veneer is very thin, I probably can't ask more at this price point. One can always peel the old veneer and stick a good one. ... show more
